Lt. Dan's Revenge Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) Just caught up on the entire series (One season and change) in the last few days. That tells you a lot about how good and addictive the show is, and also about the current state of my social life. I think it is absolutely great. I'm generally not a huge Kevin Spacey fan, but he does a phenomenal job in this Netflix series. The supporting cast, especially Kate Mara and Robin Wright, is also very, very good. I work for a Congressman myself, and although it is of course dramatized a bit, I think it does an excellent job portraying the inside dealings of the Hill. If you have Netfiix and are looking for a good new series that you can catch up on quickly, this is it. Edited February 17, 2014 by Lt. Dan's Revenge
UConn James Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I'll raise my hand. I binge-watched the whole second season Friday night, yesterday and this morning. At the end of Episode 14 (the first of the second season), my jaw just hit the floor. And I couldn't stop watching. Netflix announced before the s2 release that there will be a third season.
PromoTheRobot Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I saw most of S1 but haven't gone back to it. Been too busy for TV of late. Plan to start soon. Unlike Lt. Dan I am a big Spacey fan. PTR
Wayne Cubed Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I'm 4 episodes into season 2, I really enjoyed season 1. Trying to not bulk watch it, because then I'll be searching for something else. Have to say it was an amazing start to season 2.
mrags Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I'm thinking about picking it up. Kate Mara alone makes me want to watch every last second. Mmm

I love the show. Just started watching season 2 last night. Agreed about Ep. 14. Was so unexpected I had same reaction.
Lt. Dan's Revenge Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 I'm thinking about picking it up. Kate Mara alone makes me want to watch every last second. Mmm She's smoking. And there are some nice scenes with her, even in season 1. The fact that she plays a good character is gravy.

Acantha Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Loved the first season and I finally started watching season 2. I think that may have been the best season premier I've seen!
Justice Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Great show. Frank Underwood is one manipulative SOB.
Mr Info Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Kevin Spacey was on 'The Daily Show' a couple of nights ago regarding the new season. He has some interesting comments about following around whips on Capital Hill, Netflix, etc. http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/tue-february-18-2014/kevin-spacey
Johnny Hammersticks Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) Had to bump this thread. What an amazing show. The wife and I just finished watching season 1 of Orange is the New Black. We though it was pretty good, but we are finding that House of Cards is just amazing. Love Kevin Spacey, all of the actors seem so perfect for their roles and the writing is exceptional IMO. We are currently on the 7th episode of season 1, and I can't wait to watch 2 more episodes tonight. I know this is just a show, but it is really sort of creepy and alarming to see a (dramatized) glimpse of the dark side of our government. Found it humorous that there was a "disclaimer" before the opening credits of episode 1...something to the effect of "some of these things actually happened." Awesome. Johnny Hammersticks Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 What is it about? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1856010/plotsummary?ref_=tt_stry_pl I don't want to describe it for fear that I might give away some spoilers. Here is the plot summary from IMDB. So far, best series I have watched since Breaking Bad.
eball Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Mrs. eball and I have watched both seasons...fantastic series, but I felt S1 got very dark towards the end -- almost too dark. S2 was just epic -- particularly the finale.
shrader Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I don't think anything I say below can really be classified as spoilers, but just in case, this is your warning. I'm a few episodes into season 2 right now. I hope the subplot with the newspaper editor goes somewhere eventually (and I'm sure it will), but right now he annoys me.
tennesseeboy Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I have watched season one and two of the American version and then saw the entire British version. Essentially its Richard III and Macbeth brought into the present day. Great show..but its Shakespeare revisited.
Bufcomments Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I watched both seasons. Excellent show . Not as good as Scandal tho. Kevin Spacey can act his a$$ off. I love Robin Wright. That is one fine woman. Now that Frank is Prez season 3 should be serious fun. Cant wait to see what happens next.
KD in CA Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 At the end of Episode 14 (the first of the second season), my jaw just hit the floor. And I couldn't stop watching. I recalled there was a thread about HoC (which I will not read further for fear of spoilers) --- my wife and I started watching a couple weeks ago. We just saw #14 and yes my jaw is still on the floor. What a great show.
