Nervous Guy Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 How many warning points are required to be a moderator? If it's around 10, I'm more than qualified. I believe that number would be zero.
mrags Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I believe that number would be zero. damn. I'm boned!!!
Maury Ballstein Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Whoops... Zero pts. Whose pulled off that legendary feat ?
Nervous Guy Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Whoops... Zero pts. Whose pulled off that legendary feat ? I guess that is just my opinion...not a hard and fast rule. It's actually been done by several people, with thousands or tens of thousands of posts, I don't think it's such a hard thing to achieve.
boyst Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Whoops... Zero pts. Whose pulled off that legendary feat ? hi
CowgirlsFan Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Whoops... Zero pts. Whose pulled off that legendary feat ? me but the clock is ticking.
section122 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Whoops... Zero pts. Whose pulled off that legendary feat ? I'm still at zero... Probably where lurking more than posting helps me out. I think and say bad things about posters out loud instead of typing them lol. I can't tell you how many times I've typed out a post and then not put it up.
Captain Caveman Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I'd be happy to help, but I usually spend my time here in spurts depending on workload. I'm not sure how frequently mods are expected to "actively" monitor.
fansince88 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I have always wanted my name in red! Just ask Beer. Get on here daily. Have lots of friends and no enemies. DcTom doesnt like me but he isnt my enemy.lol
Gugny Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I, too, am interested in this. Thank you for your consideration.
Chef Jim Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I guess that is just my opinion...not a hard and fast rule. It's actually been done by several people, with thousands or tens of thousands of posts, I don't think it's such a hard thing to achieve. Oh it's easy to do but no fun.
DC Tom Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 would be glad to help out You are one of the few people I'd actually trust as a moderator.
Fan in San Diego Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I'd be happy to help out but I'm not here very often anymore, I lurk and read threads more than post.
Acantha Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I'm guessing you have more than enough volunteers, but I'll add my name just in case.

How can you effectively moderate when you don't fully understand the pathology of a rule breaker? Who make the best IT security experts? Former hackers. Who make the best casino pit bosses? Former cheaters. Like they say in Training Day, a good narcotics officer will have narcotics in his system most of the time. There are countless examples from other popular movies where those most effective in thwarting rule breakers were on the other side of the fence not so long ago. Beverly Hills Cop, Silence of the Lambs, etc. It stands to reason that if you empower the most prolific violator of the TOS and effectively render them above the law, that they will be the ideal moderator. I can't argue with this logic. Edited February 17, 2014 by BringBackFergy
LeviF Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I lurk way more than I post nowadays, but I'd volunteer. I like this place. I've been around for a while and I have -1 warning points!
