Pete Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Did anyone happen to read The Sordid End of Dave Meggett? http://www.sbnation.com/longform/2014/1/21/5320000/david-meggett-criminal-history-profile
dwight in philly Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Did anyone happen to read The Sordid End of Dave Meggett? http://www.sbnation....history-profile be careful.. may be considered "off topic".
Mickey Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 You just have to wonder what to hell is going through peoples heads sometimes? Mostly alcohol and cocaine it seems.
Beerball Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 off topic???? you gotta explain that one! what are you referencing? Of the multiple posts of yours that I deleted from this thread not one mentioned/referenced Darren Sharper, the subject of this thread.
3rdand12 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Did anyone happen to read The Sordid End of Dave Meggett? http://www.sbnation....history-profile wow thats f'd up.i did not know any of that . Quite a read.
Jon in Pasadena Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 You just have to wonder what to hell is going through peoples heads sometimes? Sometimes it's pretty clear. For example, on 12/20/97 what was going through Lonnie Johnson's head was -- Darren Sharper.
bbb Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I didn't know that was Sharper. That might be my favorite football play ever!
716 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) Damn, my first thoughts before reading clicking on this were "Let's see how this plays out" and the whole "innocent until proven guilty" theory, but the guy has been suspected/accused of 7 rapes in just the last 5 months! http://profootballta...-alleged-rapes/ This dude has serious issues. Glad they finally got this animal off the streets. Edited February 16, 2014 by 716
KD in CA Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Did anyone happen to read The Sordid End of Dave Meggett? http://www.sbnation....history-profile I recall he went away for a long time, but the details in there are pretty nasty. Couple other really good articles in that link, including one on the 1984 US Olympic Hockey team.

NoSaint Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 so were up to LA, new orleans, vegas, arizona and miami incidents. wow.
Kirby Jackson Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 so were up to LA, new orleans, vegas, arizona and miami incidents. wow. It sounds like that old commercial (I've been everywhere man). You know the one. He is like the defensive Ben Roethlisberger.
QCity Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Remember when he laid-out Lonnie Johnson on that fake punt? Haha just thinking about that makes me smile.
Buftex Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) Unfortunately, the NFL is littered with guys like Meggett and Sharper. We didn't always hear about it... the Ray Rice video was one of the few things that have made we wince in years while seeing it... Edited February 20, 2014 by Buftex
C.Biscuit97 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Unfortunately, the NFL is littered with guys like Meggett and Sharper. Is it really higher than the majority of society? I think the NFL has a higher % of quality citizens only the media focuses on the bad apples. A thread on this or Ray Rice gets more clicks than Arthur Moats being a great guy.

NoSaint Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Point taken. But it doesn't make it any less fortunate. if anything, more unfortunate, as there are A LOT of terrible humans out there, not just a couple football players like some want to portray.
C.Biscuit97 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Point taken. But it doesn't make it any less fortunate. Agree 100%. Especially when it seemed like Darren Sharper was a good guy. Still he's innocent until proven guilty. And why a good looking millionaire ex football player needs to do this blows my mind. if anything, more unfortunate, as there are A LOT of terrible humans out there, not just a couple football players like some want to portray. Yup. Just watch the news someday. The % of athletes committing crimes is a lot less than the rest of society. It's one of the reasons I stopped watching the news so much. It just highlights the scumbags & trash.
