  1. 1. Would you like to see 1BD acquire Jonathan Martin for the 2014 season?

    • Yes, he is a good but inexpensive player that can fill a hole on the Bills roster.

    • No, the Bills have a strong locker room and Martin would put the team's chemistry at risk.

I don't know fellas. I challenge you to find another coach with a better start to his NFL coaching career. With a QB who was thought to be one of the worst #1 picks ever and a raw 2nd rounder.

The fact that he liked Martin enough after coaching him at Stanford speaks volumes to me. Try to put it down as you like.

It's early. Time will tell.

IMO, Harbaugh is a great coach because he has has success with multiple qbs. I think Joe Gibbs is the most underrated coach in history because he won a SB with 3 different QBs. The only time Belichick has been successful as a head coach is when he got handed a top 5 qb of all time.

Why did they hand him a top 5 QB? Seems kind of unfair--why did they give Brady to Belichick?

And you know who really sucked before he was handed Jim Kelly? HOFer MArv Levy.

And you know who really sucked before he was handed Joe Montana? HOFer Bill Walsh.

And Andy Reid before he was handed McNabb (and since).

And Tony Dungy before he was handed P Manning.

Considering Vinny's pedigree coming from Tampa, what he accomplished in Cleveland could be considered a miracle. As for his coaching career, he was still highly sought out before Brady landed in his lap. And what do Bledsoe's figures tell you, if not supporting my point that he knew when to dump aging vets, and still managed to fleece a team out of a first round pick for Drewsie.

I've always been amazed at what BB can get out of just about anyone at the RB position. Look at the dregs he had on those Browns teams; Kevin Mack, Tommy Vardell, Leroy Hoard.....one of those guys was his leading rusher each of those years. Yikes.

Agreed on Levy and Walsh. Reid just took a 2-14 team to the playoffs. Dungy turned around one of the worst franchises in TB into an annual playoff team and was much more successful than Belichick was prior to Brady. Good effort though.

But you are right. That was a brilliant move to draft other players knowing Brady would be there in the 6th. Belichick is a genius!

Wish I could say the same.....

Poor Andy Reid, he was handed a team with 10 Pro Bowlers on the roster, then he was handed a 9-0 start for the season and then would only win 2 more games the rest of the season, losing to SD, Denver and Indy--twice each. His team had to settle for a wild card birth, a game in which he was handed a 28 point second half lead--and blew it.

Reid just sucks.

Dungy had a sub .500 record in the playoffs despite ruling the regular season with Manning for years. He "coached" Indy to quick playoff exits in 4 of his 7 seasons in Indy. In Tampa, the Bucs won the SB immediately after Dungy got the boot.

As for Bellichick, you're saying that he gets no credit for developing Brady (like Harbaugh "develops QBs")? SO BB just stumbled onto a fully formed HOFer righ there on his bench?

:w00t: I will say your ability to argue when you are completely wrong is impressive. Somehow you can put down a guy who oversaw a 9 game improvement his first year with the team (Reid) and a guy who went 54-42 with maybe the worst franchise in the NFL and went to the playoffs 4 times (Dungy) to pump up Belichick (prior to getting a top 5 all time qb, he is 41-57). Great point and it makes total sense!!!

This just in. Tom Brady was walking out of his Michigan graduation and he decided, "Hey, I'm better than this Bledose cat, I'm gonna go win Superbowls on my own."
