OCinBuffalo
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2014/02/06/innovate_or_die_121477.html This reads like a PPM introduction, which is why I posted it. Getting startup people, to do startup work, recognizing this as a startup business model...seems right to me. The question for the Wall Street Jedi Council here: would you buy this PPM? (yes, I know it's already funded. I want to know if you'd buy it, or let's say: would you keep an eye on it, and look to move your people towards it, if say it was headed towards IPO?) I'm intensely curious as to how they've designed this thing. I'd even be willing to do QA stuff, just to get a peek. I also like the CRM approach to voters. Proper CRM leads to excellent data warehouses. So does: mobile data collection = things we do/say/think that happen when we aren't sitting at our desks. I can prove that one. These guys appear to know what they are about, and of course I love the open source bit, but that's my own bias talking. In fact, there's very little here I am not biased towards. Hence, I want to know what the Wall Street types think. We'll see.

Hence, I want to know what the Wall Street types think. We'll see. Looks like an utter failure to me. Why? Because, although I admittedly began to skim early in the boring article, it was clear that technology was being used as an answer, not a tool. Nowhere in there, unless I skimmed over it, did it talk about values, principles, or goals. Objectives was about as strategic as they got. I hate to focus on myself here but I can use my experience as an example. At my company we employ technology to enhance our profits. We do this though knowing that we make money from satisfying women. With the help of CRM, data warehouses and all of that other mumbo jumbo, I have been able to sell even Beerboy as an object of desire to many, many women at boo koo prices. Technology has helped me find women that have what I'll call "unconventional" sexual desires and sell Beerboy. The Googlebot has identified several women that even I may not have thought to connect with Beerboy. Since Sven's demise, some of his clients have turned to Beerboy. Could I have made this connection? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Have I vetoed the system? Yes. But overall it is a useful tool. Anyway, here's the thing: Our sophisticated systems have often identified alternative sources to profit. For instance, we know when our clients are thirsty and we could jack up the cost of a Coke at a moments notice. But our core is not soft drinks, it is sexual satisfaction. Make an extra buck a bottle now, but people notice and it plants seeds of doubt in their mind. What are these people doing? Are they gouging me for my Sprite? That makes them just a little more difficult to satisfy the next go round and we lose valuable time. Well not me, but most of my workers; I can overcome just about any obstacle but not everyone has that talent. This leads to the real question to Republicans: What are your core values and how do you market those, or are you just mining for people that like Coke more than Pepsi or vice versa and trying to trick them? Are you more concerned with the founding principles of our nation or what color tie John Boehner should wear today? Do you want to point out that the hippies currently in charge are basically setting us all up to end up with our heads rolling down flights of stairs or does CRM tell you that you have to agree 43.7% of the time to look reasonable. Answer: Grow a set and then do some programming.

OCinBuffalo
Narcissist. hehehe. I suggest the "media unfair" thread. You've been unintentionally trolled. Well, you've definitely been trolled. Intentional? (I'm praying it was). I had nothing to do with it this time, so don't blame me. You've proved the case, all by your wittle sewf. Well, I did leave you a present there: INCONCEIVABLE! But, that is post hoc, I swear. This is getting better every day, and I'm doing: nothing. I said I was done, and I am. This could already be over. You keep talking though, and since this whole board is all about you, you always have to respond, don't you? Fascinating. Well, what to do...besides observe what happens next? Edited February 8, 2014 by OCinBuffalo
