Fingon Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 From the Wall Street Journal. http://online.wsj.co...le_EditorsPicks That recipe is definitely not the world's best wings. They don't even double fry them. If I wanted some soggy wings I would just bake them.
Maury Ballstein Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 The great chicken wing hunt on hulu will be watched soon.
Maury Ballstein Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Anyone seen this yet ? Watchable and kooky flick. They basically said Duffs and Anchor Bar are terrible. Intrigued to try this Abigail's but the yelp reviews say it ain't all that. Anyone been ? La Nova is pretty good ?
Johnny Hammersticks Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I find that with wing sauce...simplicity is key. Franks red hot, couple cloves of finely minced garlic, few dashes of worchestershire, some dried basil, and butter at the end to thicken the sauce. Perhaps add some different hot sauce if you want them spicier. The recipe for the winning wing sauce just sounds gross to me.
LeviF Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 If they're called "Buffalo wings" you can almost guarantee they won't be good.

Yea, the movie was weak they had to debate if those were buffalo wings or winner of other category to battle it out with the garlic Parmesan/BBQ/other non franks/butter based wing. It's on Hulu if anyone has free time...Thor and Al are the stars of it. Edited February 9, 2014 by Ryan L Billz

Indeed, and a good rule to live by if you're staring down a menu. A good rule but not an absolute rule. Here in CA they're called chicken wings or Buffalo wings but I've had some pretty good ones.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 No garlic. If I wanted your advice, and I don't, I would ask for it.
Chef Jim Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 If I wanted your advice, and I don't, I would ask for it. Go ahead, eat ****ty tasting wings. I don't care.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Go ahead, eat ****ty tasting wings. I don't care. I'll have you know, my friend, that people clamor over my wings. Clamor!!
