OGTEleven Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 You are all too young. Zeppelin - Out on the Tiles
Coach Tuesday Posted January 21, 2005 Author Posted January 21, 2005 Toooozday! Great pick with 'Sugarcube'...great tune....some would probably consider it a bit muddy, and as much as I love it I couldn't ascribe any superlatives...but still...nice choice! That album is just great...I like Deeper into Movies. Also, finally caught them at Maxwells in Hoboken this December for their "Eight Nights of Hannuckah" mini-tour. Although I'd seen them 4-5 times already, this show blew me away - they rocked harder than ever becuse it was their home base, and it's a tiny spot, so the sound really reverberated. Best pure rock show I've ever seen - I'd recommend catching it some time (they do it every year). And they played that track (Sugarcube), the highlight of course.
Ralonzo Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 I'm gonna vote for two - both "sugar songs" : "Sugarcube" - Yo La Tengo "Sugarcane" - Sonic Youth 212996 What, no "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies?
Coach Tuesday Posted January 21, 2005 Author Posted January 21, 2005 What, no "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies? 213076 No, but "Sugaree" by the Dead ain't bad...
shibuya Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 No, but "Sugaree" by the Dead ain't bad... 213078 As excellent as Sugaree is, it sure as hell doesn't rock anyone the hardest You are all too young. Zeppelin - Out on the Tiles 213069 One of my favorite Zep songs, however about 10 - 20 Zep songs come to mind in this category There are way too many killer tunes, and different moods. One day one song is what I need, the next day it something else. Shibuya by Galactic tends to get my foot a tappin
Coach Tuesday Posted January 21, 2005 Author Posted January 21, 2005 As excellent as Sugaree is, it sure as hell doesn't rock anyone the hardest 213086 It rocks you to sleep...
MattyT Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 You are all too young. Zeppelin - Out on the Tiles 213069 I'll see your "Out on the Tiles" and raise you "The Ocean."
MichFan Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Motley Crue - Live Wire Even my Grandma can't help but bang her head and play air guitar when this song comes on.
Simon Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 If you're talking about songs that rock the hardest, then you have to go with the Greatest Band in the World: Tenacious D! That's pretty wierd because when I saw the title I thought of Tenacious D's "Rock your Socks Off". Got to tip the cap to a couple guys who can mix up a jam that combines Bach with a Cleveland Steamer!
MadBuffaloDisease Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Oy....talk about music that *doesn't* stand the test of time... Big Hair music will always be dead. Wrong. Next! How about "Dr. Feelgood" by Motley Crue, especially with "TnT" preceeding it? Oh but wait, that's big hard music.
Pete Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Seek and Destroy-Metallica- I used to blast this one before my football games. Swamp Song-Tool- Any song with "Beligerent Fugker" in the chorsus sung by Tool kicks ass!
Pete Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 sin city-AC/DC 213114 My favorite AC/DC song. Nice pick!
sfladave Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Rage Against The Machine: "Killing In The Name Of" and "Bullet In The Head" Ministry: "Deity" and "Just One Fix"
mcjeff215 Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Floyd - Run Like Hell. Godsmack - Moon Baby Metallica - The Shortest Straw In no particular order.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Others for ME: "Sad But True"-Metallica "Still Of The Night"-Whitesnake (that song being what I envisioned Zep sounding like had they all survived to the mid-80's) "No More Tears"-Ozzy
Ralonzo Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Def Leppard, Pour some sugar on me... 213144 A bit of a stretch on the sugar theme, but... "The Candy Song" by Masters Of Reality
