Agreed. And they'll draft 1-2 tight ends as well

I said it once before and I am going to say it again. I am hedging bets they trade Gronk in the next three years or less.

And imagine if we would have kept a few of my other suggestions:

Dwan Edwards (over Mark Anderson) - we'd have a 34DE and 43DT

Smith (last year I wanted him)

Donte Whitner (wanted him at the time, indifferent now)

Goeff Hangartner

Bryan Scott (early in the season when we kept losing DB's, a versatile experienced LB/DB is nice to have)

Poz, (which now works out as a push. If we had him...Alonso?)

I wanted us to get Chandler Jones, or least offer him.

Going back I wanted Greer, too.

I am sure I had a few whiffs, but I do not remember them.

edit: Corey Mac was one I wanted to keep that we successfully moved beyond

I was fine with all the money Levitre wanted but saw how we screwed ourselves with no backup plan, thus, maybe I would have paid a lot for him once realizing we got our cart in front of the horse.

Also, when CJ comes due, I will carefully weigh his contract. It is dependent upon the next two years but I would be fine with letting him walk and/or franchising him and/or trading him. He likely will not be worth the money he will desire.

Agreed on CJ. On most of your shoulda list, it's mostly the fringe/depth guys that fill out the roster..... However id always rather they cycle through the young up and comers in those spots where you might find a player with more upside.

Kyle Moore, Jay Ross, Merriman, Mark Anderson, Alex Carrington, Spencer Johnson, Torell Troup, Arthur Moats

were on the roster as filler players.

We had no business letting Edwards walk for the price he was worth and instead using way too much money on Anderson while Chandler Jones was on the list. A better idea would have been adding Chandler Jones, keeping Dwan to also roll in to the DT spot, and keeping Carrington in rotation. We had Spencer Johnson who I liked but Jones, Edwards and Carrington are a much better group at roughly the same cost of what we had with Anderson.

Anderson was no match for this team. A qualified player who worked his way up, one of the fringe players that earned his way up - just was overpaid on the way. We had no reason to take a flier on the guy when we already had a working pool of young players.

i dont understand the Jabari Greer stuff...hes a descent corner, never all pro never even a pro bowl but we talk like ohhh if we just could have kept Greer look at him now. Because of the Super Bowl ? he missed most of that season and the Saints offense carried the load

he was the #1 corner and played 9 out of 16 games regular season and the whole post season on a defense that was top 10 against the pass (big when playing with a lead often) and was 1 turnover away from leading the nfl.
