No wonder he ended the interview early. Where do these never-done-anything-athletic reporters get off being so negative to the face of a pro athlete? It is flat out disrespectful and arrogant.

They could have phrased questions like: "are you concerned about rehab time with your surgery?", "are you planning to work with your wide receivers this offseason?"

I completely disagree. I think he was sensing the flabby out-of-shape, low-GPA media guy was "calling him out". This is SO ridiculous. Why do reporters have to be so disrespectful? There is no need at all to "go there".

EJ Manuel is an intelligent, hard-working young man. Will he be a great QB? I don't know for sure, but I think he is working hard to be one, so (to me) it is more than ridiculous for these reporters to "grill" him like that.

Yet people actually wonder why there are instances where players are simply not inclined to talk to the media or do so reluctantly.

EJ is a 23-year-old millionaire who was a 1st round draft pick and a starter on an NFL team, who the team has publically committed to developing, and showed their investment by hiring of coaches to help him become their franchise QB.

TG is a guy working for the Bflo news. With no filter and the need for attention.

EJ FTW. And I think EJ was just throwing him a bone with that question, and doesn't care who he is or what he thinks.

As a guy who has had several knee surgeries of varying degrees (last one was Dec 26th) this is very troubling. He shouldn't need this that soon and there are no 'clean ups for scar tissue' unless you have had major work which he hasn't. I am starting to think this kid is very breakable and those knees aren't going to do so well in the NFL.

Actually, the media reports were that Manuel had a LCL sprain. That's an injury often left to heal on its own, but if not satisfied with the healing progress, surgery to repair the ligament may be performed, typically resulting in faster healing. It can't have been a complete tear or they would have kept him out at the end of the season. It really doesn't sound like a big deal.

Here's a shovel ! Of course there is treasure down there . Just keep at it ......Wait is that something shiny ?

Media does not always respect the human being it seems.

Shame that .

No keep digging Tim you gotta be close to that treasure soon. I know you are 6 feet down but keep at it . 8 feet is the best for buryin'..... er treasure

Tim Graham expounds on the exchange:

Another top quarterback prospect would create competition. Neither the Bills nor Manuel should be afraid of that.

So when Manuel asks me if the Bills should draft a quarterback in the first round, he shouldn't take my answer personally.

yes we are doomed.....no wonder why the Bills suck so bad, all their fans do it complain

I've had seven knee surgeries (both ACL's) all before I was 21 and not one in the past 23 + years. It's called a run of bad luck.

Glad they went back in and clean up scar tissue as that really helped.

LOL! The weasel doens't say that he said "in the first round." Drafting a QB later in the draft is no big deal, but drafting another QB in the 1st round is a direct insult since it means Timmy has determined that EJ is a bust already. Nice try, Timmy.

BTW, I'm glad they did the surgery and I was surprised just after the season ended when it sounded like they didn't.. He clearly was injured at the end of the season and arthroscopic surgery is almost nothing these days, so why not take a look-see.

I was ripped after the season for suggesting he should have knee surgery rather then just hope it heels on its own

im glad he had it as im not a fan of hoping something happens

Still could happen.

I hope Hackett and co are just blowing smoke about being totally committed to him just because of his knee situation.

If you're worried, I'm worried, Dr. Barbarian.

I'm sure it was an unintentional oversight. We regret the error.

Tell me why was there an outcry when Timma ran away crying from this evil site?

I'll admit for awhile that I thought people had been too hard on him, but he's since gone full douchebag with his twitter conduct and this kind of stuff. He is a very small man. And I don't want to run journalists off this site - it's definitely a privilege to get to hear from people who work in the business and do it well. I wouldn't put Graham in that category. He is trying to remain relevant and if he has to make himself the story, he will.

Are you saying Kellyto83 isn't a millionaire with the best of doctors and his knee isn't as important to people?

well. The "knee isn't as important" thing might be a little off. He could be a single father of 4 and he works at a factory where he is busy lifting things and moving them around all day and if his knee gave out he would be out of work with minimal insurance (thank god for ObamaCare) and his kids would go hungry (thank god for FoodStamps) and he would end up loosing his job because some young 22 year old kid could come in and do a better job that didn't have a torn knee (thank god for Welfare).

Or he could just be your average guy working at a desk selling copy machines and it really doesn't matter of his knee is in great shape or not.

Either way, the answer to your question is NO. I'm sure his doctors who see many many patients aren't nearly as concerned about his knee as the doctors for the Buffalo Bills or the specialists they hire that are concerned with profession athletes (especially Quarterbacks).
