Saint Doug Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I think I would've wanted Greggo over Schwartz.
cale Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Yeah, Fisher had both of them. Guess which one he wanted. Greggo even had the NFL Office throw the book at him.

BRH Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Wouldn't be the first time a failed former HC had come back as a Bills assistant (Jim Ringo) but, really, did anyone want that blowdried blowhard back here anyway?
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Yeah, Fisher had both of them. Guess which one he wanted. Greggo even had the NFL Office throw the book at him. Why do you think that? If I understand the timeline correctly, Rams hadn't yet fired their DC when Schwartz was on market. When they did fire him, Schwartz was already picked up by us.

Why bring back old blood that was fired already from here, regardless of position. OBD is trying to move on.

turftoe Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 http://www.detroitlions.com/media-center/videos/Jim-Schwartz-on-Tim-Walton-leaving-for-Rams/f150ceb5-2830-4903-b1fb-4d72d2dcca16 Jim Schwartz thinks a lot of Tim Walton. I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the bills defensive staff in some capacity.

I am sure we'll find out soon.

But I find it weird that Schwartz and greggo were out there for a while, before the decision to fire walton was made. It makes me think that fisher perhaps wasn't entirely convinced he should fire Walton. (All speculation, of course).

Perhaps not convinced he should hire Gregg, strikes me as more likely if just spitballing on it. It's possible he had to even make a case to the powers that be above him, given the history. Last time the rams signed him it didn't work out so good. Edited January 30, 2014 by NoSaint
Green Lightning Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Makes sense, I heard that St. Louis was using a headhunter in their DC search.
