BillsFan-4-Ever Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 What are the consequences of probation violation, and no, it's not me. which state? http://criminal.findlaw.com/criminal-charges/probation-violation.html There is no set rule as to what happens immediately after a probation violation is reported. Probation officers have broad discretion to issue a warning, or require you to appear in court for a probation violation hearing. In deciding, a probation officer may consider the severity and type of condition violated, past probation violations or warnings, and other considerations. If you are requested to appear in court, the probation officer will request some form of penalty, which may potentially include jail time.
ExiledInIllinois Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 If jail happens i will buy you a beer I feel set up! What is the probation for!
Marv's Neighbor Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 The person could quickly run for Political office. They seem to have a lot of "immunity."
aussiew Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 No firm rule. Depends on the probation terms, the offence, the county and the PO

ExiledInIllinois Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 How soon it happened from when he was placed on it. Or she Wife? I am guessing it might be his idiot neighbor he hates! I will get a beer if jail time is given! dib is probably figuring out a way to send them off??
DC Tom Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 What are the consequences of probation violation, and no, it's not me. Most immediate is probably a bench warrant. After that, it depends...
BringBackFergy Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 BillsFan4Ever touched upon the main issues. Also, a lot of times, if a probation subject has a history, they can be violated on very minor things (the terms of probation often include such things as "lead a law abiding life", "maintain employment", "refrain from alcohol and/or drugs", etc.) Many times if the subject has a history, they can be violated for minor things and, upon a finding of a violation, they may need to attend in house rehab or weekends. In other cases where the subject does not have a long criminal history, the probation violation may be nothing more than a warning or an extension of the term or additional (non-jail) requirements.
Beerball Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Most immediate is probably a bench warrant. After that, it depends... which in your experience means...
