BRAWNDO Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 From Pittsburgh. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2014/01/27/report-olsavsky-to-interview-for-lbs-coach/
Malazan Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I know nothing about this guy, but I will overly positive/negative about him based on what feels I am feeling when I wake up tomorrow.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Well from reading the O'Neal thread I'm sure many people will be posting here how the Steelers should NOT allow the Bill's to talk with him.
NickelCity Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I know nothing about this guy, but I will overly positive/negative about him based on what feels I am feeling when I wake up tomorrow. Well I hate it because he's awful and we're doomed, but also because he's going to be poached next offseason after doing well, continuing our merry-go-round of coaches.
HankBulloughMellencamp Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I know nothing about this guy, but I will overly positive/negative about him based on what feels I am feeling when I wake up tomorrow. plus side: He was a tough LB when he played minus side: Units under his tutleage were consistently in the bottom third of the league conclusion: Not sure if I should **** or go blind. (disclaimer: no actual research conducted on Jerry)
BringBackFergy Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 His name is Jimmy Olshefski...he's gotta be good.
BuffaloBill Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 His name is Jimmy Olshefski...he's gotta be good. That is a LB name...

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I said this in another thread. My buddies say this guy was a scrappy undersized player-- mostly a STer-- who got a lot out of his athletic ability. No real reaction to him as a coach, but they like him as a player.
Green Lightning Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 But he comes from a 3-4 scheme and we're going back, or forth, to a 4-3, or not - maybe. Pass!
BringBackFergy Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 That is a LB name... Hey, where the heck have you been?? Interviewing for the Browns HC gig? I take it you have been moving to CT, correct??
YoloinOhio Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Must be a Whaley connection From the Pitt Post-Gazette: The Steelers might not be done losing assistant coaches. Defensive assistant Jerry Olsavsky, who played nine seasons for the Steelers, will interview with the Buffalo Bills to be their linebackers coach. Olsavksy has been a defensive assistant for four seasons with the Steelers and is looking to become a full-time position coach.

DDD Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 He played against the Bills in one of their playoff games and I remember he physically punished them. The Bills were sent home licking their wounds. Paul Maguire was one of the broadcasters.
YoloinOhio Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 He played against the Bills in one of their playoff games and I remember he physically punished them. The Bills were sent home licking their wounds. Paul Maguire was one of the broadcasters. Was it the one where the Stillers played all backups and all we had to do was win to get in the playoffs... Maybe this guy will bring FA LB Jason Worilds with him from Pitt...
gobillsinytown Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 His family is originally from the area where I live (Youngstown, OH). He bought his parents a very nice house with some of his NFL money, so he seems to be a family oriented guy. As a player he was pretty well respected as a guy who made the most out of the opportunities that came his way and got the most out of his ability. I think it would be a good hire in the sense that he's going to be very motivated and will relate to his players. That being said, if he gets the gig he's going to be judged by how much the LB's improve.
3rdand12 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 How important can a LB coach be? seems like a dime a dozen around here
FluffHead Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I'm just gonna go ahead and say championship if we land this guy
Captain Caveman Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 How important can a LB coach be? seems like a dime a dozen around here Right, because our LB play has been so consistently stellar.
Beerball Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Hey, where the heck have you been?? Interviewing for the Browns HC gig? I take it you have been moving to CT, correct?? He's been locked in Gugny's basement.
