IDBillzFan
The Cuomo quotes are completely taken out of context of a discussion...I thought taking things out of context and blowing them out of proportion was supposed to be the job of the "liberal media". No. They're not. Cuomo meant what her said, precisely as he said it. But nice try.
Gary M
Provide the proper context. They try to explain it away here: http://polhudson.lohudblogs.com/2014/01/19/cuomo-admin-comments-extreme-conservatives-taken-context/ But this guy has it right. http://www.syracuse.com/opinion/index.ssf/2014/01/audio_clip_of_gov_andrew_cuomos_comments_on_extreme_conservatives.html
stuckinny
I have lived in NY for all 37 years of my life, always thought the life of an upstater could justify everything else you have to deal with in this state....now I am leaning more towards heading down south. For the amount of taxes I pay, my streets should be paved with gold and the garbage man should come in my home and take the trash out for me, but we all know where that money gets funneled to. It also makes me almost sick to my stomache to see the State advertise our lotto with little kids, praising that your $1 and a dream goes right to education...really? Doesn't seem to be helping Buffalo Schools, and my rural district still needs to raise the tax EVERY YEAR! We live in a state with no hope for the middle class! I am the 3rd generation of our family business....celebrating our 80th year...I always joked i would retire at our 100th, but doubt we make it there with the business climate and liberal slanted state

If I can figure out how to make the move work with family im outta here. It's got little to do with any "liberal slanted state". Its tough all over, red state or blue. Don't believe me?. Check out the blue State of West Virginia. It has A LOT to do with ny politics and liberal agenda. Ny upstate and downstate have nothing in common. Upstate is constantly raped and taxed to death for this socialist nanny state we live in. Our tax rates and business climate reflect this. You mean times are tough in west Virginia which is heavily dependent upon coal and mining operations which are being attacked by the epa and Obama administration? 3rdnlng
It's got little to do with any "liberal slanted state". Its tough all over, red state or blue. Don't believe me?. Check out the blue State of West Virginia. WV is a red state that is hurting specifically from the actions of a liberal federal administration that has so far been able to shut down 200 coal fired power plants. Typically speaking, the states/cities that are in the most financial trouble are very liberal. http://www.westernfreepress.com/2012/10/13/states-with-republican-governors-are-doing-better-economically/ here are few truly bright spots on the American economic scene. With its 3% unemployment, North Dakota—enjoying a boomtown-style explosion in economic activity surrounding its massive energy production—is one such spot. But throughout the rest of the nation, we are languishing in the stagnation of Obama’s recovery that isn’t a recovery. Within that context, however, there are states that are doing better and worse. And strikingly, as Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell laid out in his speech at the Republicans’ convention, the states that are doing better definitely have something in common: Every American deserves the opportunity of a limited, responsible government that performs its core functions well, and then gets the heck out of their way! That’s when good things happen. Look at the results of Republican policies in the states. In states with Republican governors, the average unemployment rate is a full point lower than in states with Democratic governors. Republican governors lead seven of the ten states with the lowest unemployment rates, and 12 of the 15 states ranked best for business. While the Obama administration borrows over $3 billion a day just to keep the lights on, Republican governors have closed $65 billion in budget shortfalls, without raising taxes. In Virginia, over the last two years, with Republicans and Democrats working together, our unemployment rate is down over 20 percent to 5.9 percent. We’ve added 151,000 net new jobs. We’ve had nearly $1.4 billion in budget surpluses and we’ve done it by keeping regulation and litigation to a minimum, and we haven’t raised taxes! While the president talks, Republican governors lead. Talk is cheap. Results matter. Conservative fiscal policies are working, and so are more Americans in states with Republican governors. I love you guys! A warning: doctrinaire opinions do not do well on this board. Maybe half of us discuss issues, not partisan party positioning. The other half get the living **** beat out of them on a daily basis. We call that "self-moderation." And since you're new here, let me give you a preemptive introductory insult: you're an idiot. In which case, Gugny posts mostly on the main board and in the shout box. Edited January 28, 2014 by TakeYouToTasker
