In an interview with the New Yorker released on Sunday, President Obama made perhaps the strongest endorsement by any sitting president on relaxed marijuana laws. Pushed by interviewer David Remnick, Obama acknowledged that marijuana is less dangerous than alcohol in its effect on consumers. He also noted the obvious racial and economic disparities in enforcement of marijuana laws. “Middle-class kids don’t get locked up for smoking pot, and poor kids do,” he said. “And African-American kids and Latino kids are more likely to be poor and less likely to have the resources and the support to avoid unduly

In fact, the president backhandedly came close to endorsing outright legalization of the drug for recreational purposes, by offering a modified endorsement of new laws in Colorado and Washington that do exactly that:Accordingly, he said of the legalization of marijuana in Colorado and Washington that “it’s important for it to go forward because it’s important for society not to have a situation in which a large portion of people have at one time or another broken the law and only a select few get punished.”

So based on that logic we don't need borders. Let's just let everyone in. And we should also legalize it because blacks and latinos are poor.

“it’s important for it to go forward because it’s important for society not to have a situation in which a large portion of people have at one time or another broken the law and only a select few get punished.”

Is an absurd standard which essentially states that all laws, and all law enforcement, are illegitimate. Unless he's arguing from the position that for all other crimes, the majorities of those who commit them are caught and punished.

Ummm....that's a stretch and not what he was saying at all. Using your logic when could never repeal bad laws because it would mean all laws are bad

What other laws are broken on such a scale as people illegally having pot?

Then please explain what he was saying. Or was this another example of what he meant vs what he said?

And African-American kids and Latino kids are more likely to be poor...

Given how successful Obama has been ensuing that African Americans and Hispanics are poorer than any other race in the US, I suspect he isn't making a point with the statement above so much as bragging about it.

Show me data on the number of times pot has been smoked, nationally, versus the number of arrests that have been made where marajuana has been involved.

nothing in a society says tyranny like an excess of laws restricting natural behavior, unequally enforced, unequally prosecuted, and unequally penalized.

Barack Obama: Fighting tyranny head on...one podium-issued executive order at a time.

It's not actually illegal. It's only illegal for distributors to remove them. Once you own the mattress yourself you may remove them.

“And African-American kids and Latino kids are more likely to be poor and less likely to have the resources and the support to avoid unduly harsh penalties.”

I would love to ask follow up questions on that.

What do you feel are the root causes of blacks and Latinos being poor?

And now well into you're second term, tell us what you have been doing to correct this disparity?
