NewEra Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 2nd round: Absolutely not. 3rd round: Still a bit of a reach. I could see him being a 2nd round pick. I like him a lot. Not much not to like imo
Mark Vader Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 I could see him being a 2nd round pick. I like him a lot. Not much not to like imo He could be a 2nd round pick. I just think the Bills should not use a 2nd round pick on a QB. They have other important needs.

Formerly Allan in MD Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 If they're married to Manuel (not sure why), they won't be taking any quarterback in the early rounds. Either you're married or you're not.

I'm not against the Bills drafting a QB, especially since this years class is deep. I'm thinking no earlier than the 4th round.

I would like to see them take a flier on Logan Thomas in the 5th-6th round...I doubt he goes undrafted. Kid has "all the tools" (as Mayock put it)...and could be a perfect developmental QB under EJ Manuel. They would have to change nothing, as they are the same QB.

I don't care how many tools he has, he friggin blows, makes EJ look like the most consistent and accurate passer of all time. Edited January 27, 2014 by Buffalo Barbarian
26CornerBlitz Posted January 27, 2014 Author Posted January 27, 2014 @JohnMurphyShow The #Bills are all-in on EJ Manuel according to OC Nathaniel Hackett. My interview from the #SeniorBowl : http://ow.ly/sSY4V If they're married to Manuel (not sure why), they won't be taking any quarterback in the early rounds. Either you're married or you're not. Listen to the Murph interview of Hackett and you'll realize that there is no if.
YoloinOhio Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Listen to the Murph interview of Hackett and you'll realize that there is no if. Yep, they have been very consistent about that. Marrone, Hackett, Whaley and EJ are, in a way, all married to each other. They all came in at the same time (Whaley to his elevated role). Some fans don't want to accept it, but EJ was a raw QB prospect, and they were fully aware of this when they drafted him. They knew he was going to take time. They knew they needed to be patient. Bills fans don't like this because they have waited way too long for a winner. But the Bills coaches and FO have a plan, and they are tweaking it as they go but not veering in a different direction. They realize they erred in not having a dedicated QB coach. They didn't know he would get hurt, and that threw a wrench into what happened this year. But I think they'll balance this next year on the fact that they are still developing him, but they also can't wait forever. I don't think they will draft a QB in the first 5 rounds this year. Maybe not at all, depending on who falls. Next year may be a different story. Too early to tell.
Beerball Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 What would be your thoughts if we took Jimmy in the 2nd or 3rd round? 3rd round seems right.
NickelCity Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I'm not against the Bills drafting a QB, especially since this years class is deep. I'm thinking no earlier than the 4th round. I imagine they will end up taking one in the 4th. I bet we get a better "prospect" than we think, too.
