I believe it was Marv's insistence to, "just take the points" that helped the Bills win close games. They were going for the win there though which I agree with Marv played for the points and FG at end of first half vs Cowboys in last Super Bowl putting them up 7 when a TD would have out them up 11 with the ball to start the second half...just saying

But I do know leaving the free points to opt for a TD sounds awesome in Madden, but not in a very closely contested NFC Championship game. Oh I didn't realize it was a closely contested real life championship game. Nevermind then.
