I don't know now, but London was big in manufacturing. Last I heard, the city wants to put a surcharge on new industrial developement, so I suppose jobs will be chased away. The tobacco business is not doing well - Imperial Tobacco for one is buying more overseas product.

 I visited a factory there once and passed through a number of times.

It is a nice appearing town, most Ontario towns are. I worked with an engineer from there. He seemed proud of his hometown.

I suspect you will notice a difference in attitude from what prevails in Western Canada. Good Luck

Hey, I live in Guelph as I attend the University there. It's only about a half hour drive away. I've been to London on several occasions and believe me, it's one of the nicest cities i've ever been too. It's a very clean city with nice parks and a great place to raise a family. On a side note, if u like junior hockey then your going to the right place. London is ripping up the OHL. It also really is close to Buffalo, maybe a two hour drive.

IIRC, a number of OEM auto suppliers are (were) located there.

I passed through London on a hitchhiking trip a couple decades or so ago. Nice mainstreet/downtown surrounded by pretty countryside. You could do worse.
