Yes. Todd Bowles also withdrew. Whisenhunt interviewed and went elsewhere.

Well it's not to the extent of getting turned down by Bill Cowher, Marty and Brian Shottenheimer and Mike Shannahan...

Bills also were interested in Chip Kelly last year and they were not able to get an interview.

I thought the Bills and Chip did meet.

? who would want Mike Shanahan?

No.

Just examples of coaches not wanting to come to Buffalo.

Ha! Ok.. but you listed established, SB-winning coaches (except for the Schotts). These are coordinators who don't want promoted!

So the browns next headcoach will inherit

1) A top 10 defense.

2) The 2nd most cap room in the NFL

3) 3 of the top 35 draft picks in the 2014 draft

4) 5 of the top 83 selections

This really is an excellent fit for Pettine or really any 1st time headcoach to turn this ship around. It's all there.

I agree that this is not a bad team. The issue is not the players.

The biggest thing they need is a franchise QB.

Absolutely, which is the hardest thing to find. Also, they have indicated no interest in re-signing 2 of their 5 PB players, Alex Mack and TJ Ward (per analytics).

For me looking back, the Pass Rush was the only real Highlight for the Bills this season... and now the man who made it happen might be gone... and yet I have become so conditioned to thinking, "Same old Bills" that it doesn't bother me...

Unlike the Bills the Browns have set themselves up where they won't have to reach for a QB.

And they have Hoyer and a chance to get a top QB too.

I think its a great opportunity for someone out there.

Yet it didn't stop the Bills from hiring Doug Marrone who had a college track record of .500 at Syracuse. Pettines track record is far superior IMO and includes a lot more NFL experience.

Except Marrone had HC experience and Pettine did not. While not a requirement for every team, it is something the Bills wanted. Sometimes coordinators don't make the best HCs and are better staying coordinators. Marrone has shown he can run a program. BTW, he did a lot with that Syracuse program. It isn't like he went .500 at USC.

Until there's a franchise QB to hang your hat on, it's not all there. There's a lot to like for sure, though.

GO BILLS!!!

How the Browns current front office has set themselves up for 2014 and beyond is most impressive! Now it's a matter of making good personnel moves and they have showed with the likes of the controversial Richardson move that they have the ability to make the correct ones.

Any QB drafted that high will be a reach. Kiper doesn't have any QBs in the top 8 on his Big Board. Edited by YoloinOhio
