FWIW, Carpenter appears to have been pretty solid as a field-goal kicker, throughout his career. Maybe a little slump in 2010. His year in Buffalo was his best. Can only guess the Dolphins were not happy with his kickoffs.

He also kicked well in bad weather. :thumbsup:

While I really appreciate what Carpenter did last year the Bills drafted Hopkins for a reason. And the kid beat Lindell out fair and square...Now...If Hopkins is still injured then of course it forces the Bills hand a bit and getting Carpenter in is important, if not vital...But if Hopkins is healthy, and bombing 50 plus yarders the way he was last camp, then I think you move on and go with the kid... B-)

After his first few kicks of the year, I was never once nervous about him missing a kick. In all the time Lindell was here, I never had that confidence in him.
