Enemarty Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 The timing seems just about right to me. It's going to be a long time before we get our next one in. Congrats, Andre! Possibly, but that's only because they will be building a new Hall of Super Fame for Kiko!
mjt328 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Best news I've heard in awhile. Go Andre!!!!!!
bbb Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Possibly, but that's only because they will be building a new Hall of Super Fame for Kiko! Well, I consider his 15 year career and 5 year waiting period a long time from now!
Captain Caveman Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 About 20 - LOL.............I just don't think Kyle is a HOFer. He's not at this point in his career, but 4 pro bowls is nothing to sneeze at. If he can get 4 or 5 more (a big if) in the next 6-7 years I'd say he's in the discussion.
Buftex Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 That makes five (some people are forgetting Lofton) from those SB teams. Would have been more if they won one. That compares to old Steeler, Cowboy and Packer teams. How do you lose 4 with all of those Hall of Famers in their prime? Now that's a feat that will never be duplicated! Actually Noodlearm, if you count Lofton it is 6: Marv Levy HOF 2001 Jim Kelly HOF 2002 James Lofton 2003 Thurman Thomas HOF 2007 Bruce Smith HOF 2009 Andre Reed HOF 2014 and...if you want to count Ralph...it would be 7! Other outside shots: Steve Tasker, Bill Polian!
Buftex Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 (edited) I don't agree with Aeneas Williams over Charles Haley but Williams was special too. Have no issues with the rest especially Walter Jones. So thankful Dungy did not make it. It isn't really that Williams got in over Charles Haley. They could have both made it. Both are very deserving IMO. Haley is one of those examples of a really great player (rings with 2 different teams, many Pro-Bowls at two different positions...a game changer. But, he was a bad/crazy dude off the field. Fair or not, that is a factor, I am sure. And for those complaining about Irving being in...I agree, Reed would have been in before Irvin. However, that doesn't mean that Irving doesn't belong. Reed and Irvin had comparable stats...Reed might even have an edge in some ways...but not that big of an edge...so to argue that Irvin doesn't belong is, in a way, arguing that Reed doesn't belong. We all know, rings impress the voters...Irvin has them, Andre does not...but they were both great players. Edited February 2, 2014 by Buftex
folz Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 CONGRATULATIONS ANDRE!!!!!!!!!!! Should have been in before Carter and Irvin, but that doesn't matter now...he's a HOFer! Most deserving...no one went over the middle like Andre! The comeback game! 4 Super Bowls! There was never a question that he SHOULD be in! Congrats to Ray Guy also (also well deserved)...and as others have said, there was no way they could induct Tasker before Guy. Let the Tasker campaigning commence. Cheers Andre!

Its Michael Irvin...not Irving....Irving is where the Cowboys play football in Irving, TX...or possibly you mean Irving Fryar?
CowgirlsFan Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 A Texas size toast to Andre! CONGRATULATIONS! Its Michael Irvin...not Irving....Irving is where the Cowboys play football in Irving, TX...or possibly you mean Irving Fryar? My team used to play in Irving Texas it now plays at Jerry's World in Arlington Texas.
Buftex Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Its Michael Irvin...not Irving....Irving is where the Cowboys play football in Irving, TX...or possibly you mean Irving Fryar? \ Thanks for clarifying that!
26CornerBlitz Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Its Michael Irvin...not Irving....Irving is where the Cowboys play football in Irving, TX...or possibly you mean Irving Fryar? Isn't the new stadium actually in Arlington?
Buftex Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Just saw the replay of the NFL Awards show, where they announced and introduced the Class of 2014. They showed Bruce and Jimbo in the audience cheering Andre on... it was the second time they showed Kelly in the audience. He is with a very pretty, young, girl..is that his daughter? She looks a bit like Jill...but if that is Jill, she has aged incredibly well, or had some incredible plastic surgeons. It was cool, Kelly looked very, very proud of Andre...almost looked like Jim was getting a little choked up. The only bad news, I would bet that Michael Strahan will get the last induction speech in August...great player, but I am not a big fan of the guy... also embarrassed to say I have barely ever heard of Claude Humphrey...I think I have an old football card of him from the late 1960's...first time I can remember having to look up a HOF entry to find out who they were...I guess I grew up in an AFL house... little early exposure to Philadelphia Eagles or Atlanta Falcons football. Isn't the new stadium actually in Arlington? Isn't it Arlingtone?
