papazoid Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 The NFL sent out a press release on Wednesday to brag about its TV ratings, and although the NFL doesn’t need any of our help in promoting the fact that its TV ratings are amazing, the numbers are worth pointing out anyway. According to the NFL, the average game got 17.6 million viewers, and 205 million Americans watched at least one NFL game. That represents 70 percent of the potential TV viewers in America, which completely dwarfs the kind of viewership that any other type of programming gets. (Even though to me it’s actually a little surprising that 30 percent of people with a TV never watched a single game last season.) http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/08/34-of-americas-35-most-watched-fall-tv-shows-were-nfl-games/
White Linen Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Someone told me yesterday $5 per month of your cable bill is for ESPN. Pretty high for one lineup.
sodbuster Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Someone told me yesterday $5 per month of your cable bill is for ESPN. Pretty high for one lineup. Makes sense. There are a half dozen espn channels, and they all come in HD.
The Big Cat Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Couldn't sweep because of the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. Goes to show: want people to watch TV the old fashioned way, make it the old fashioned way: live. Your program doesn't have 'live' value...then you better start figuring out how to squeeze Hulu et al for every dime you can.
machine gun kelly Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Thank god they didn't have NFL Games on T, W, F, S as my wife would divorce me. Just kidding.

Garion Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 When you hear someone talk about the demise of the nfl from concussion scares and sissified rules take a look at that tv share . . .
PearlHowardman Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 NHL outdoor games are bringing in huge audiences, too.
Wooderson Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Thank god they didn't have NFL Games on T, W, F, S as my wife would divorce me. Just kidding. Seriously. I'm not married...yet, but my girlfriend feels the same way.
Bronc24 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Seriously. I'm not married...yet, but my girlfriend feels the same way. Then stay single. Trust me.
