gatorbait
The Krauthammer said don't rule out Trump being smart enough to realize that repealing Obamacare and implementing single payer could potentially be a big win for him. TakeYouToTasker
I don't think we are going to see a rennaisance anytime soon.... You are already beginning to. Libertarianism is on the rise in America, and that's before you begin to account for the massive upswell of an adherence to the philosophy among youth rejecting the social justice mantra. Libertarianism is on the rise in America, and that's before you begin to account for the massive upswell of an adherence to the philosophy among youth rejecting the social justice mantra. You're right, at least going by what I see. Many people I know describe themselves as being socially liberal, fiscally conservative, big on personal liberties and property rights. Lots of them don't appear to realize that they fit the general description of a Libertarian or a Classical Liberal, apparently willing to settle for "independent" as the most appropriate title. Most of them also seem to want to remain separate from any kind of party affiliation.

unbillievable
All socialist programs are great at the beginning. I'm just hoping that they delay single-payer long enough so that I can be part of the gettin' instead of the givin' population. You're right, at least going by what I see. Many people I know describe themselves as being socially liberal, fiscally conservative, big on personal liberties and property rights. Socially Liberal = want a lot of free stuff. Fiscally Conservative = Don't want to pay for it. Makes sense now.

B-Man
THAT MEANS IT’S WORKING: Wellmark to halt sales of individual health-insurance policies. Wellmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield’s decision means more than 21,000 Iowans who bought health-insurance policies from the company in the past three years will need to find another carrier — and it’s not clear all of those people will have another choice. Wellmark President John Forsyth said his company’s decision was painful but necessary, because the carrier had lost $90 million over three years covering that group of people. “We’re an Iowa company, we’re here for Iowans, we want to do the right thing for Iowans, but we can’t allow a small subset to put the broader group in jeopardy,” he said in an interview Monday. Forsyth said the overall problem is too few healthy, young consumers are buying health insurance. Say it with me now: “Unexpectedly.”
unbillievable
Socially liberal. Socially. The lines get blurry when liberals are fighting not for the right to abortions, but to force us to pay for it. The current liberal agenda has moved on from passive acceptance to pro-active enforcement. It's no longer about not caring what people do in the bedroom, they have to bake the cake and help them celebrate.

Libertarianism is full of awesome - you know why?....Because not only does it not work - but it will NEVER happen. And not happening leaves you in your happy place...you get to complain and complain about how everything is effed up and how much better everything would be ...if we would only listen to you and if we could just be libertarian... The current liberal agenda has moved on from passive acceptance to pro-active enforcement. It's no longer about not caring what people do in the bedroom, they have to bake the cake and help them celebrate. At this point, their use of the term "liberal" as a descriptor of their philosophy is a serious misnomer. Politically, they're more socialist than anything, and culturally they've become more fascist than the most rabid members of the "religious right" ever were. They threaten violence when people with an opposing point of view try to speak, they shout down anyone they disagree with, they've begun creating fake hate-crimes to perpetuate a false narrative of victimhood, and they riot in the streets and try to pass it off as legitimate protest. There's nothing "liberal" about them.
B-Man
KNOXVILLE THE FIRST PLACE OBAMACARE MAY FAIL... With the only insurer left on the Affordable Care Act exchange in the Knoxville area set to exit the market in 2018, the city could become the first place in the nation where Obamacare fails, according to a CNN Money report. When Humana pulls out of the exchange next year, roughly 40,000 people will be without an option for a subsidized insurance policy unless another carrier steps in. Doc Brown
Apparently the newest bill proposal wants to take away the most popular aspect of Obamacare which prevents insurance companies can deny people based on preexisting conditions. Leave it up to the states to decide whether insurance companies should enforce that mandate on insurance companies. I'm sure that will go over well.
