Obama: Hey, only a handful of people are seeing premium increases

NEWS YOU CAN USE: Here’s how the impending ObamaCare disaster affects you.

Insured through work? The law forces employers to provide a one-size-fits-all benefits package costing much more than pre-ObamaCare coverage. The law also imposes a slew of new taxes. No surprise, employers are offsetting these costs by raising deductibles and reducing family coverage. In 2017, many companies will eliminate insurance for spouses.

Working part-time? Hundreds of thousands of workers have had their hours cut because
ObamaCare requires employers to cover full-time employees, meaning those working 30 hours a week or more.
Ironically, colleges, where Democrats outnumber Republicans, are major culprits, slashing hours for adjuncts and student workers to evade providing insurance.

Job-hunting? ObamaCare dampens the job market. In New York, 17 percent of service companies and 21 percent of manufacturers are reducing their workforces to stay below 50 full-time workers and dodge the employer mandate, according to the New York Federal Reserve.

Sixty-five or older? ObamaCare awards bonus points to hospitals that spend the least per senior. Researchers found that at 231 hospitals getting bonuses for low spending, seniors died needlessly because of inadequate care. For example, seniors having heart attacks were forced to wait too long for angioplasties and died before they could get the procedure.

You would think that a political party - any political party would have to know when barriers are put up that regulate people's behavior that those people will find ways to circumvent the rules and do what they feel is best for themselves. e.g., change your driving pattern to avoid a new red light or slow speed zone, buy cigarettes at an Indian reservation to avoid paying the state taxes on them, put a dummy in the passenger seat so you can drive in the HOV lane, reduce the hours of your staff to that of a part time worker to avoid having to pay draconian fees, close a restaurant or two and let their staffs go to get below the threshold that requires you to provide them healthcare coverage.

You would think that a political party - any political party would have to know that's how people would behave, because that's exactly how THEY behave.

A terminally ill boy should be moved to a palliative care regime proposed by specialists despite his parents' objections, a judge has ruled.

The Family Division of the High Court said the boy should receive care to minimise suffering in his final months.

He was diagnosed with bone cancer in 2012. His parents had argued that doctors could still treat his symptoms.

What the article doesn't say, quite glaringly, is if the boy was diagnosed in 2012, why has it taken so long to get to the point where they're arguing over his ability to be treated? Has it really taken so long between his diagnosis and his treatment?

Say what you will about the state of healthcare here pre-ACA, but at least we could get relatively immediate treatment.

For those counting at home, that's an annual rate of $22,466.04, not including co-pays and deductibles.

Yah dude, but at least they have "healthcare" - right? And it's a Bronze level plan. That's got to be pretty good - right? I mean it sounds like the Olympics or something - right?

The impossible stupidity of supporters of the ACA is tragic.

You just want to deny poor people health care.

When insurance company do this now, they're labeled heartless greedy profiteers. When the government will do it, they will be labeled enlightened saviors of the population.

Except no one's ever referred to the NHS as "enlightened."

At least, not without filling out the appropriate forms in triplicate and sending the pink copy to Wakefield House, West Yorkshire, WF3 1WE.

maybe he should log onto the ACA website like it says and see what the rate would be....

"If you like your healthcare plan you'll be able to keep your healthcare plan!" :wallbash:

The entire country was promised three things from Obama & the ENTIRE Democratic Party: keep your plan, keep your doctor, and an average cost reduction of $2500/year.

Why should the guy who received the letter have to do ANYTHING other than get the three things he was promised?

Oh, wait. Let me guess. Because Obamacare would have been better if only the the GOP didn't (fill in the blank.)

Damn, you are such a predictable hack.

Four, if you count "We have to pass it to know what's in it."

Which kind-of nullifies the other three, if you think about it. Shame no one ever pointed THAT out at the time.

!@#$ing Obama isn't man enough to step back from the political prism and recognize that the ACA has fulfilled nearly all of the critic's concerns, admit it sucks and work his ass off to come up with something better before he leaves office. He is neither a leader or a hands on type that will roll up sleeves and do some work. He is however the biggest fraud to ever hold the office, but not for long.

"We don't have time to read all this stuff. If we did we wouldn't be able to pass anything." -- John Conyers

That would be an improvement. God forbid Congress passes fewer laws that they actually understand.
