Colt McCoy...although he smashes my theory about Irish guys that play well because they want to get a good meal.

He's of Scots descent.

Sure why not, nice article about him and being very accurate is one of the most important attributes of a successful QB.

Would be even cooler if he steals Giselle too

yep, all QBs have hot girls/wives.

minus the massive choking

Darn Mexicans keep taking our jobs :D

Funniest line of the day!

I believe he's actually of Mexican descent on his father's side, and Polish/German on his mother's. His paternal grandfather was from Coahuila, Mexico. Romo's full name is Antonio Ramiro Romo. He was born in San Diego but grew up in Wisconsin.

This is a disturbingly detailed post.

Are you the family genealogist?

I think yungmack is contesting my claim that Romo's real last name is Romano...yungmac apparently researched this on Wikipedia and copied his findings. I stand by my theory and further submit that Wikipedia is a product of the devil. Edited by BringBackFergy

As a people, you Irish are quite distrustful.

I watched one of his games in the FCS playoffs against Towson. He looked pretty good but I was honestly expecting to see more based on all of the hype about him prior to watching the game. He had a very unorthodox throwing motion but seemed to still be pretty accurate with a lot of quick short passes.

All I've seen we're his throws vs N Illinois but I had a similar impression.

Compact motion and lightning quick release but looks like a dart thrower. Maybe that's what having a quick release does. Apparently he used to have a baseball windup, which is the exact opposite of what he does now, so he may be coachable. Seems to have plenty of arm strength so his footwork, weight transfer must be good. Overall his accuracy was good, subject to a few bad misses.

Also looks like a one read guy from what little I saw but apparently he had 5 receiver sets and could go thru his progressions (though I sure didn't see it). He also threw into coverage so he's got a lot of work to do to avoid being a turnover machine in the pros.

Bear in mind that his O-line looked pretty good and his receivers seemed to run good patterns, so he didn't do it all by himself.

Condensed Games from 2013:

vs. Eastern Illinois: http://draftbreakdown.com/video/jimmy-garoppolo-vs-tennessee-state-2013/

vs. U of Tennessee/Martin: http://draftbreakdown.com/video/jimmy-garoppolo-vs-ut-martin-2013/

vs. Jacksonville State: http://draftbreakdown.com/video/jimmy-garoppolo-vs-jacksonville-state-2013/

vs. Eastern Kentucky: http://draftbreakdown.com/video/jimmy-garoppolo-vs-eastern-kentucky-2013/

vs. Northern Illinois: http://draftbreakdown.com/video/jimmy-garoppolo-vs-northern-illinois-2013/

So that should give anyone interested a good 180-200 snaps from this year with which to judge him.

These are not highlight packages.

Point being, you'll see incomplete passes, sacks, rushing attempts and interceptions in these videos along with any passes he completed.

Walsh said Losman made a mean shrimp gumbo.

Losman said Trent is a wonderful team mate and very supportive of his desire to be a bigger California QB bust for the Bills.

I just watched the game against Northern Illinois.

He looks A LOT like one of last year's prospects, Matt Scott of Arizona.

Very athletic, quick-twitch athlete, good arm talent and a very quick release and a nice feel for the game. The kid definitely has some tools but he played at a the FCS level so it's a huge step up.

BTW, Matt Scott went undrafted last year but is a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Make that Eastern Illinois...sorry

I know….WHO?????

This kid has put some ridiculous numbers up in his last 2 years and reading what other coaches say about him, he is a QB that could be there in the 3rd/4th - higher if he crushes the combine etc. I know it's E. Illinois and they do not play Bama and Auburn, 5000 yards is still 5000 yards. It's his size, mechanics, accuracy and the fastest release in College Football that the scouts say make him an NFL-ready QB. Great attitude, film geek and tremendous leader seem to be things they say as well. There do not seem to be a lot of knocks on the guy.

Urban Meyer "one of the best quarterbacks I've ever seen''

http://articles.chic...ack-urban-meyer

I have not seen him play a down, have only read a bunch of articles and stats, just wanted to get his name out there and see what the collective comes up with on him.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Bills try to trade down in the first to get an extra 2nd & pull the trigger on this kid there. His coach compares him favorablly to Romo(who also went to Eastern Illinois). This kid is a good Quaterback but more importantly he is a good football player. Can't have enough of those on your roster.

how tall is he?

6'2'' 225ish - good build for the No Fun League.

He should be in the 2nd wave of QB's - WIth McCarron, Boyd, Mettenberger, and another interesting prospect Stephen Morris from the U. I do agree in that if you are committed to another QB in this 2nd wave....pick your guy and do what SF did with Kaepernick....make it happen earlier. Lot's of teams with franchise QB's/Solid starters could be looking to shop this group: Dallas, NYG, Titans, NYJ, Arizona, St.Louis...and Buffalo.

I'm half Irish.....and I am partly dubious about your true meaning here.

My wife is willing to trade our entire draft to get him. So, he must be good...

Were her knees trembling when she told you this ?? And did she have a hard time walking ??

If he can beat the Pats, steal Bradys wife, and make Billicheat want to quit NE to come to Buffalo just to coach him ..... I'm all for it. Sign him up.
