YoloinOhio Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Looks like Philbin did it to keep his job... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/06/dolphins-fire-mike-sherman/
C.Biscuit97 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Looks like Philbin did it to keep his job... http://profootballta...e-mike-sherman/ So they fired the guy who has been Tannehill's OC since college? Another great Buffalo Barbarian call.
YoloinOhio Posted January 6, 2014 Author Posted January 6, 2014 So they fired the guy who has been Tannehill's OC since college? Another great Buffalo Barbarian call. Supposedly players wanted him out, lol (not sure about Tanny though)
C.Biscuit97 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Supposedly players wanted him out, lol (not sure about Tanny though) I don't care one way or the other but how is it Sherman's fault when half their oline was gone, the overpaid for a one dimensional wr, had their TE miss the whole year, and have crappy rbs? Can you say scapegoat?
thewildrabbit Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 thrown under the bus... Phins GM Jeff Ireland could be next. One year he makes some good moves, and the next year he screws some up.
Hazed and Amuzed Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 The Phins brass is on a very short leash. Very short. I'm guessing they either make the playoffs this year or Ross hits the reset button again.
K-9 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Supposedly players wanted him out, lol (not sure about Tanny though) If this move was done to appease the players, Miami is more phucked up than I thought. GO BILLS!!!
Kevin Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 So they fired the guy who has been Tannehill's OC since college? Another great Buffalo Barbarian call. Truth.
Kemp2Warlick Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 ESPN NFL Nation @ESPN_NFLNation3m Sherman firing a warning shot to Philbin http://es.pn/1f9a1Fi
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 This is horrible news. I really enjoyed playing against Sherman-coaches offenses!!
H2o Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Looks like Philbin did it to keep his job... http://profootballta...e-mike-sherman/ I wonder what this means for Tannehill as Sherman is the only coach he has had since his A&M days?
l< j Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 They got swept by the Buffalo Bills, for god sakes. Someone had to go. kj
Flip Johnson Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Philbin staying on is likely good news for Buffalo. When an owner deliberates on the pros/cons of "continuity" versus "starting over" the hard to swallow truth is that the current guy probably can't get it done. That was Chan Gailey after 2011 and it is likely Joe Philbin after 2013.
thewildrabbit Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) thrown under the bus... Phins GM Jeff Ireland could be next. One year he makes some good moves, and the next year he screws some up. Jeff Ireland and the Dolphins part ways... to phins fans .... oh wait. 46-50 in 6 seasons, one playoff appearance 2008 (Parcells was still there) 6 players picked by Ireland in the first two rounds are no longer with the team Now they might find a real GM. San Jose Bills Fan Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Jeff Ireland and the Dolphins part ways... to phins fans .... oh wait. 46-50 in 6 seasons, one playoff appearance 2008 (Parcells was still there) 6 players picked by Ireland in the first two rounds are no longer with the team Now they might find a real GM. And the Dez Bryant interview fiasco was Jeff Ireland, wasn't it?
YoloinOhio Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 And the Dez Bryant interview fiasco was Jeff Ireland, wasn't it? Yes, I think so... when he was with the cowboys
BuffaloBill Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 This is horrible news. I really enjoyed playing against Sherman-coaches offenses!! +1
Heitz Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 More on the mess in Miami - sounds like a real clusterf down there (and people think the BIlls are in bad shape)! http://www.miamiherald.com/2014/01/08/3858193/armando-salguero-relationship.html http://www.miamiherald.com/2014/01/08/3857668/greg-cote-jeff-ireland-gone-but.html
YoloinOhio Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 This is horrible news. I really enjoyed playing against Sherman-coaches offenses!! Maybe he'll go to NYJ. They like to change OCs every yr. Or NE, where McDaniels will likely be moving up and on (again).
