YoloinOhio Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Yeah work for free for another year instead of getting a nice pay day. Sure Gil. Funny that until I read that, I didn't realize Nickell Robey left school early.
Nitro Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Brandt is right. Evans is still raw talent. Who ever drafts him will have to be patient. He will be good 3 years down the road.
bobobonators Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Now that Yankey declared, i think the absolute best scenario for us would be to trade down if possible and nab Yankey around 16/17. With Glenn, Yankey and Wood, the left side of our line would be absolutely set. Use the two 2nd rd picks to address TE/LB or WR/LB or even safety.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 19, 2014 Author Posted January 19, 2014 (edited) @Rand_Getlin If college players were compensated properly for the value they create in the market, you wouldn't have 98 underclassmen in the #NFL Draft. 2014 NFL Draft: A record 98 underclassmen eligible for draft The 2014 NFL Draft is over three months away, but already a record has fallen, as 98 underclassmen have decided to go pro early, breaking last year's mark of 73 early entrants. The 2014 NFL Draft is scheduled for May 8-10. The deadline for underclassmen to declare was Jan. 15. Players who are three years removed from high school are eligible to make the jump early and agree to forfeit any remaining college eligibility once they declare for the draft. In the 2013 NFL Draft last April, 16 of the 32 players selected in the opening round were underclassmen. Draft classes are boosted every year by the early entrants, especially in the first round, and the 2014 class won't be any different. The record of 98 declared underclassmen is up from 73 in 2013, 65 in 2012, 56 in 2011 and 53 in 2010, an alarming trend that is tough to ignore. Edited January 23, 2014 by 26CornerBlitz
Nitro Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I will note this list and see how many do not get drafted. Just curious. Look at the NBA. Every draft a bunch of under classmen who come out early don't get drafted and have to go to the NBA developmental league or overseas.

BillsCelticsAngelsBama Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 We need DB's. Not in round 1 unless we trade down but at least one quality safety and two Cb's either thru draft or Free agency,.... somewhere.
Prickly Pete Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 this is definitely a "trade down if you can" draft, with so many underclassmen coming out. Next year will be a bit depleted. I even think they should consider trading away picks for next years draft to get more in this one.
