D521646 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Not sure if he was axed along with Chud, but boy I personally would like to see him here.
prissythecat Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 for what ? We need to try out all the Jimmy Johnson assistants from the Cowboys glory days.
jkrules Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 for what ? +1 Norv Turner is yesterday's news for any coaching position. Retirement beckons Norv!
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) Ugh... Seriously I don't see that helping anything Edited December 31, 2013 by over 20 years of fanhood
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I think if the Patriots hired Norv Turner as the guy who fetches coffee for the assistant tight ends coach, they'd somehow look mediocre. Bad juju.
MrLocke Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I think Norv is a lot like Wade Phillips. Horrible HC great coordinator. If Hackett gets axed I would certainly be open to Norv.
boyst Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Even without linking Turner to Johnson then Wannstadt, Wannstadt alone left enough of a bad taste in my mouth for the 90's era coaches. Only a few could be successful in a modern era; Don Shula and Jimmy Johnson. Shula seemed to be ahead of his time with the design of his football team, and probably never fielding a Super Bowl team, I believe he could create a successful team. Jimmy Johonson was a master of getting the talent around him.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Not sure if he was axed along with Chud, but boy I personally would like to see him here. if we can get Aikmen and Emmit too, I'm down for it.
stony Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 +1 Norv Turner is yesterday's news for any coaching position. Retirement beckons Norv! Look at Norv's work with QBs. Look at how River's fell off the face of the football earth until McCoy "resurrected" his career this year. I want to give Hackett his chance, but Norv is a hell of an OC and great w/ QBs.
1B4IDie Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Do you know he has the lowest winning percentage of any Head Coach with over 40 games in NFL history? He owes Jimmy Johnson his liviehood. He is a horrible coach and it is clueless to suggest him for any gig the buffalo Bills organization including sanitation coordinator.
mead107 Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 A big no. Ticket taker ok Or a helper at hammers
Proteus Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 I would love chud as the offensive coordinator. I am sorry but Hackett is inexperienced and it shows. Bland, predictable play calling and not really knowing how to use his personnel. If these clowns are serious like they say they are about making the playoffs, then both Hackett and Crossman need to follow Hilliard out the door.
Marv's Neighbor Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 If you liked Dick Jauron, you'll LOVE Norv Turner.
ganesh Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Look at Norv's work with QBs. Look at how River's fell off the face of the football earth until McCoy "resurrected" his career this year. I want to give Hackett his chance, but Norv is a hell of an OC and great w/ QBs. And he would know how to effectively use Spiller and Jackson. Norv has had great success as an OC in Dallas, Washington, Miami, 49ers, San Diego.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 We need to try out all the Jimmy Johnson assistants from the Cowboys glory days. I would love chud as the offensive coordinator. I am sorry but Hackett is inexperienced and it shows. Bland, predictable play calling and not really knowing how to use his personnel. If these clowns are serious like they say they are about making the playoffs, then both Hackett and Crossman need to follow Hilliard out the door. It's one thing to not like Hackett but why exactly would you love Chud as offensive coordinator?
Sisyphean Bills Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 We need to try out all the Jimmy Johnson assistants from the Cowboys glory days. It worked well with Wannstache. I was going to say that Manuel looks like the perfect fit for a vertical passing game though.
littlelouie Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Yeah the Bills could hire Turner and bring Wannstedt back with him. What's Jimmy Johnson up to these days? Maybe he would want to get back into coaching. We could play 90s football in the new millennium.
