YoloinOhio Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 (edited) Players on I-R are ineligible for the Pro Bowl. Sucks for AW but cool he'll get to go on the trip in Byrd's dime Byrd publicly attributed one of his INTs in the Jets game to AW, saying that AW saw something on film and pointed it out to Byrd prior to the play. RuntheDamnBall Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 We need fewer pro bowl players with me first attitudes. Should have sat him and taught him that lesson while we had the chance.

Beerball Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Fact: Byrd did not hold out. You're right. He showed up just in time to get his paycheck. Course he didn't play until much, much later.

RyanC883 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Pay Him! Homegrown with nothing to show for it? If the Bills can't find a way to keep Byrd they can plan on losing Kiko, Woods, or any other young talent we have and develop. His loss was ultimately our gain this season. He sat out, Leonhard and Williams were able to play more and A. Williams specifically benefited from this. What's it gonna cost to keep him? This cycle will continue to repeat itself. Keep Byrd and send the message that we pay the players who perform for us and show loyalty. I'm sure Byrd woulda flown the coop in a heart beat earlier this year but with the emergence of a scary defense that he can immediately impact he could decide to stay. PAY HIM! they need to keep this guy. They are well below the cap, and he is a top 5 safety. Sucks for AW but cool he'll get to go on the trip in Byrd's dime Byrd publicly attributed one of his INTs in the Jets game to AW, saying that AW saw something on film and pointed it out to Byrd prior to the play. would love to have BOTH THESE GUYS next year. D is much better w/ them both.
Malazan Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 It's a nice gesture and something that players should do more often to bolster a sense of camaraderie. Let's not start crowning him man of the year just yet though. He made 6.9 million this year. So going nuts and saying the trip costs him 50k then he is spending 1/138th of his income the trip.
CowgirlsFan Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Back in the day Aikman always gave the O line gifts at Christmas.

Do they also get paid when they make the PB? By the team or NFL? Or only if it is part of their contract,,,
Prickly Pete Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 (edited) Leonard was not our biggest problem and he came away with some clutch picks. I agree having Byrd back there is game changing but we were still missing Gilmore. Leonard performed admirably for us. Jim Leonard sucks, his strong suit is following the opposition into the endzone. bladiebla Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Now we need to get the 100 million $ man to take the rest of the D too.
