Dragonborn10 Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 With EJ, Stevie, and A. Williams out there is no point to this game. Only bad things can happen. The Patriots are going to kill them - no reason to make it worse and expose the best players to injuries. I would not even dress CJ, Fred, Wood, Glenn, K. Williams, Byrd, and M. Williams. Their health going into next year is more important than being competitive for a couple quarters against Tom Brady.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 I disagree. Play to win the game and end the season on a high note. Good learning experience and morale builder for a young team. We want to cultivate a winning atmosphere...let's leave it all on the field and take away the Patriots bye week.
Dragonborn10 Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 High note lasts for about 45 minutes. There are at least 10 maybe 15 guys on this team that won't even be on the team next year. Winning comes from talent and being healthy. Yes I would have liked to see EJ get more reps against a New England defense. I don't need to see Fred take any more hits, CJ limp any more this year, or Kyle get cut from behind.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Perhaps if they trade for Oher they can sit Glenn.
PolishDave Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 It's not a preseason game. Play your best guys and get everything you can out of them. This is the team to beat in the AFC East. Go beat them. Any given Sunday.
Leelee Phoenix Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Goodell wouldn't allow losing teams to tank like that without fining them hard, and possibly losing draft picks.
metzelaars_lives Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 What you are suggesting has- to my knowledge- never happened with exception of teams heading to the playoffs and their seed already locked in ie. the Chiefs this week.
JPS Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Or you could have a young team realize they can beat the 800 pound gorilla at Gillette….nah….you're right, they should give the good ones a day off and let them wonder going into next year. Stupid.
vincec Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 If there's a game to play, then there's only one way to play it.
TPS Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Personally, I think Marrone is going with Lewis because he thinks he has a better chance to win with him than with EJ...
Dragonborn10 Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 There are lots of ways to do it and not run afoul of the league... FJ Knee, Wood Knee, Spiller Ankle, K Williams Heel. Bring on 2014.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Personally, I think Marrone is going with Lewis because he thinks he has a better chance to win with him than with EJ... Respectfully, I am pretty sure you are waaayyyy off base here. I think that Thad is playing because EJ is injured. Now, if the Bills were playing for a playoff position, then I think EJ takes the field. Given that Buffalo has nothing at stake, why risk turning a minor injury into a major injury? EJ's offseason development is going to be crucial. Marrone wants EJ to be 100 percent healthy headed into offseason workouts.

Boatdrinks Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Personally, I think Marrone is going with Lewis because he thinks he has a better chance to win with him than with EJ... Personally, I think Marrone is going with Lewis because EJ's knee is not fully healthy and it's not worth risking a more severe injury in a game with no playoff implications for the Bills. It's a risk/reward thing, and there is no reward.
KollegeStudnet Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Dude, the gameplan is simple! Knock the Pats out of Homefield and make them lose out on their bye!

todd Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 So surrender a game and play not to win? Brilliant. With EJ, Stevie, and A. Williams out there is no point to this game. Just in Atlanta Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 We're going to die someday. Might as well get it over with now.
