Did you read that article? What a train wreck that team is....There is one team that has it worse than us

Between Haslam's issues, constant changes in the Front Office/Coaching Staff, and now players being POed/confused, they are in one helluva big stinking mess.

Is that 6 coaches fired so far?

Schiano and Dominik

Kubiak prior to today

Shanahan

Chudzinski

Schwartz

Frazier

That's what I've seen. Chudzinski was ridiculous as giving a guy only one year. This ownership and mgmt hired him so you can't say they inherited him.

We'll see who's next. Bill O'Brien is probably going to Houston, and Schiano to Penn State. He belongs in college.

Schwartz is a prick, and should have been fired. He had enough talent to win. That is a good example of a firing. He had 5 years and delivered only one playoff appearance with a very talented team and N ownership group that brought in talent.

The man did have the courage of his convictions to dump QB Josh Freeman, and let rookie QB Mike Glennon play.

Glennon went 4-9 while completing 59.4 percent of his passes for 2,608 yards, 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Even more surprising tho was the Browns only giving the guy they just hired only one year. This after the team trades away the starting RB, and has a revolving door at QB.

So, the question is which assistant gets the HCing gig? Norv Turner or Ray Horton?

From the rumors it seems neither, everything I read had them wanting Schwartz if/when the Lions fired him, and they had some interest in the Penn State guy. Sounds like Chud was the feel good signing last year for them when they lost out on Chip, they figured might as well sign the guy who grew up a Browns fan.

Lmao!!! Hire a guy who underperformed with lots of talent?? Wow, I'd hate to be a Browns fan today...Schwartz's agent probably can't even believe it

Got four of the firings right so far...

Coaches are getting shorter and shorter leashes. Marrone better get this team in shape next year.

Agreed...I think based on the way this year turned out Marrone is pretty lucky he went to Buffalo...Because if anything this year I think you could point directly at coaching for the difference in a least a few games...Especially on Offense and ST's...And even more especially because the CEO, ex GM, new GM, and the HC himself literally raved about the talent already on the team this past off season... B-)

Norv Turner is proof that some people are great coordinators but not cut out to be head coaches.

It's amazing that N.F.L. teams continue to hire guys who are great at leading a unit but lack the leadership, organizational, and high-level thinking abilities required of a quality head coach.

Great article on Black Monday but in particular the disfunction within the Redskins, which makes the bumbling afternoon player pressers at OBD (are the available to the media? Are they not?) seem quite mild in comparison. Despite what some people think it is NOT standard across NFL organizations to line their players up, QBs or not, to answer questions from the media before they leave for the offseason.

Not sure I've ever read anyone capture the absurdity of Black Monday quite like @kentbabb did here: http://wapo.st/1emXitU

Football is a relatively small industry which hires almost exclusively from within. Maybe some day a team will have the balls to hire a great coach from another sport.

Is Chud a blowhard like Marrone or was he simply fired because of the poor record? One year seems harsh but if you have talented players and can't motivate them, then it is a time saver.

I don't think Marrone is a blowhard, personally, but Chud was fired because the FO felt the team took a step back from where they were before he got there and they feel like he was a bad hire (admitting they made a mistake and are paying for it dearly, both in terms of dollars and embarrassment), They also feel that the team quit at the end as shown by several blown 4th qtr leads in December. It was also noted that the FO wanted to cut two players, Weeden and Little, and Chud refused. There was also some chatter of Chud not being a hard worker, but that died down so not sure if that is true.
