dhg Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Anyone use XBMC to watch whole seasons of shows? Never heard of it until just now. Looks pretty interesting. Do you use it? Wondering what you think of it.
Security Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Never heard of it until just now. Looks pretty interesting. Do you use it? Wondering what you think of it. Well, a friend cancelled all TV, and only uses XBMC. He even watches Bills and Sabres games on it. My problem is, I do not know how to navigate it! I was on it last night trying to use it, and was lost. I will get a lesson sometime soon. Guess it streams most anything live, has all sorts of TV series, and then he gets other things like movies from the Pirate Bay, where people upload them and you can take them. I have got things from there before. Sometimes the quality is not 100%, and for me, that is not good enough, I am not going to waste 2 hours of my time watching something where the quality is not there, even if it is free. I will say on Pirate Bay I just downloaded the whole Shawn T new workout program, T25, and it is perfect quality, and I also downloaded this 5 DVD download to learn Spanish like Rosetta Stone, there are some good things out there.

The Poojer Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 and while it's not really a tv series, more a web series, lets not forget season 3 of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee http://comediansincarsgettingcoffee.com/
Matt in KC Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 The Boyd Crowder/Wynn Duffy partnership is going to be hilarious from the justified preview. Wish they could knock out the commercials or switch to Hbo/showtime though. Yeah, I'm excited for the new season. I love the writing and great dialog! I couldn't possibly watch Justified, or pretty much any other show, live though. I HAVE to fast forward through commercials. Usually not even the Bills are worth the pain of watching real-time.

I honestly have only watched one TV show live for an entire episode since the 80s. That was the Seinfeld finale. Other than that, I have taped or DVRd every episode of shows I watch...............I'll watch 10 minutes of something that happens to be on here or there, but never will make it through a whole episode.
The Poojer Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 just caught up on the 6 episodes of Shameless...wow, this season is really an emotional one, moreso than past seasons...it's taking the viewers on an incredible rollercoaster of emotions..
Buftex Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) just caught up on the 6 episodes of Shameless...wow, this season is really an emotional one, moreso than past seasons...it's taking the viewers on an incredible rollercoaster of emotions.. I have been watching too... not sure what to make of it... but I have always felt that way about this show...sometimes I really like it, and then others, I wonder why I like it. One thing I do like about it, pretty consistantly, is that they pack so much into one hour....the fast pace, I think helps me to forget some of the things I don't like as much. I think the Liam/Fiona story is a little over the top...kind of teetering on that Showtime "over the line" thing, where they kind of try to be a little too outrageous, just for the hell of it. But what always keeps me coming back, is the fact that I think the acting on the show is pretty outstanding... Edited February 17, 2014 by Buftex
The Poojer Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) on the contrary...i think this season is showing, finally, the destruction of fiona, while, seemingly everyone else, except for deb, is finally 'finding' themselves...carl, asking if all families are that f-ed up...frank giving up drinking and dying, lip starting to take school seriously...ian finally comfortable with his sexuality kev and v getting the bar and their family(albeit struggling along the way)...up to this season its been fiona being the glue....she's all of a sudden coming apart and liam is the icing that brought everyone together...hell even sheila & mickey seems to be finding themselves I have been watching too... not sure what to make of it... but I have always felt that way about this show...sometimes I really like it, and then others, I wonder why I like it. Maury Ballstein Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) Shameless is good even though it's constantly doing that showtime over the top thing. The Fiona coke child turn seems too dark after her life was getting better with the job and all. Didn't see the newest one, but Kevin's MVP of that show for me. Always hilarious. Him and Phillips argument at the bar last week was great. Edited February 17, 2014 by Ryan L Billz
Kevin Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I'm looking forward to Sleepy Hollow. The season ended on a pretty good cliffhanger. Also can't believe Revolutions still around but I'm enjoying it.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Two of my favorite shows are coming back: The Americans Vikings. Both are just awesome, and I'm not a huge TV watcher.

Scenes like here humiliating check in at the prison are what I am talking about...Emmy Rossum is a babe, so I have no problem with getting to see her nekid at any time...but the scene doesn't really have a lot of resonance, cuz it doesn't fit the tone of the show... it just doesn't mean much, because you know the characters will be, essentially, unchanged by it. Overall, I do like the show... one of my favorite things about this season has been the mutual respect that Frank and Carl seem to have for eachother...the kid cracks me up. And, I think this has been really outstanding acting from William H Macy. Edited February 18, 2014 by Buftex

The Poojer Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 my favorite part of every episode of Shameless is that little wiggle Emmy Rossum's character does in the opening song when she pulls up her 'wares'....gets me every frigging time
