BringBackFergy Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 I am in town to visit my folks for Christmas. Took my son to his first Sabres game. He loved the experience and the "butt goal" was a great end to a fun evening.
DC Tom Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 That goal's so stupid it makes me feel better about Brett Hull being in the crease.
ExiledInIllinois Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 I had the audio off... What is the official ruling? Since the 'Yotes had control, it is on them right? Now if a Sabre player knocked it into his shorts, then no goal? Or is it still a goal? Isn't a puck lost in the equipment imediate stoppage? Again, what does the rule book say on this? Obviously, they all reviewed it and were on the horn to Toronto. So it is legit. ?? That is amazing. Is that from your TV? Seems like somebody already posted it to Youtube... God love modern tech!
DDD Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Somewhere, Mark Sanchez is feeling a whole lot better.
Jon in Pasadena Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Hanzal would have had to run his own goalie to keep that from happening. Probably should have.

I was wondering if he recorded it off of his tv and posted it
BuffaloBill Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 That was wild.. Usually that is how Buffalo teams lose...
Just Jack Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Watch it again, you can see the Sabre player (#3) watch it go into the pants, and even point it out to the official that it's in there.
QCity Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Isn't a puck lost in the equipment immediate stoppage? The play isn't stopped until the ref blows the whistle. So, the ref has to see the puck lodged in the equipment (skate, pads, glove, pants lol), then blow the whistle to officially stop play. It looks like the only person that saw it drop in his pants was Mark Pysyk.
Nanker Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Butt Goal might just have reversed the curse... after all, the goalie "backed" in.
Tiberius Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 We are not going to get the first pick overall....
PromoTheRobot Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 That was wild.. Usually that is how Buffalo teams lose... The refs could have said they lost sight of the puck and waved off the goal.
Marv's Neighbor Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 As a life long (suffering) BILLS and SABRES fan, I can honestly say that a play like that is exactly the kind of crap play that normally would go against us. IF it was the Stanley Cup finals, it may even have healed all the previous wounds!
Donald Duck Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Ted Nolan coached Sabres hockey team has been very enjoyable to watch as of late.
Tiberius Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Ted Nolan coached Sabres hockey team has been very enjoyable to watch as of late. Yes, so true. And I gave all the credit to Hasek for he previous success.
gomper Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Fun stuff.....go Teddy. Nice job getting these guys to play hard.
ExiledInIllinois Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I just watched the vid again w/audio of (RJ/MR)... I didn't realize the puck was in plain view the whole time. On Smith's sweater, not quite in his pants. Even on the replay, you can see the puck the whole time. That's a good goal!
