gmanbfan Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I want to see this defense to great things against New England next week. That would send me off into the off season on a real high. They were amazing yesterday, and they've shown flashes of great things this year... I would LOVE to see them knock Terrific Tom down, post 2-3 great sacks, and make his Sunday afternoon horrible. I know everyone is hoping for Manual to play and for him to show us something, but I really think that on the road, against that Pats, if that's what you're looking for you will be in for a huge let down. I hope he plays well, but regardless, if this defense can do something similar to yesterday on the road against the Pats, would be sweet...
machine gun kelly Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I agree. I'd love to see a repeat performance from the D. With Brady's quick release, he won't get sacked as much, but he could fall to pressures and hits.. Really punish him for his completions like the Ravens normally do to them ( except yesterday of course). As far as offense I can see Belicheck doing everything possible to shut down our run. Other better defenses have tried without success, so the best way to deal with Brady is keep him off the field. You know Belicheat is going to run a ton next week. He's not in the past sat his starters so I doubt you'll see him start. Even though we missed the playoffs, to win Sunday after pounding the jets, now FISH, we would finish 4-2 for the first time in a long time in the AFC East. Give us all a belated Xmas present, and beat the Pats. Then watch the pundits talk about the Pats had an off week, vs. the Bills are the most talented 7-9 team in the NFL. I do hope for Thad in this game. He's playing better than EJ, and let EJ get a full off year to work on his craft. I hope he hires a QB coach like a Jeff Garcia who trains other NFL QB's. Next year he'll come out stronger.
BuffaloBill Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 While I hope the D plays well it is important that EJ goes out from the season playing well. He has shown little more than a few flashes of potential this year. If he goes out with a really bad game there will be nothing but questions hanging in the air this offseason. Remember the team in addition to the fans need to believe he has "the stuff." If the Bills play a complete game and walk out of NE with a win it sets the proper tone for the offseason. The Bills need to build confidence and learn to win on the road against good opponents.
YoloinOhio Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Pettine has been money against division opponents, I am sure due to his experience with NYJ. Exept for game one in NJ but you can also attribute that more to McK going down and Rogers being our #1 CB that game. The Jets kind of have had Brady's number over the past few years and the D played well in the 1st game, we barely lost it and didn't have Gilmore or Byrd out there. However, the D has played MUCH better at home this year so I am a but worried about that. It will be a tough game... hoping for the best! REALLY hope EJ has a decent game or it will be a very long off season on TBD.
