ICanSleepWhenI'mDead Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 The musical content of the remake may not be "stellar," but for uniqueness, I'll go with Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield's 2013 remake of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" - - guitar, vocal and video actually recorded on the friggin' International Space Station:
Azalin Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Blue Oyster Cult performing The Animals' 'we gotta get out of this place'
swnybillsfan Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 john lennon's imagine as done by a perfect circle. probably not for everyone, but there's something there that connects with me.
swnybillsfan Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 one of the most powerful songs ever, imo. little wing as done by stevie ray vaughan.

apuszczalowski Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iPUZSEFb7E&feature=player_embeddedSRV did Jimi so respectfully. Both this and Little Wing are amazing. C'mon, everyone knows that Hulk Hogans Air Guitar entrance version beats all other versions of this No votes for Bowie and Jaggers colaboration on "Dancin in the Streets"? The Poojer Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 thanks for that...big gaslight anthem fan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvG4q1E5464 Jim James cover of Bob Marley's 'Turn Your Lights Down Low', I am a big fan of Jim James/Yim Yames/MMJ and think he did a great job on this...on the same album is Vampire Weekend covering 'Con te Partirò', they do a very nice version of that song. https://soundcloud.com/fantasylabelgroup/turn-your-lights-down-low-jim
BUFFALOKIE Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) Whoops. I just noticed that someone already posted A Perfect Circle Imagine so I changed mine. I love this thread! ROCK! Edited February 25, 2014 by THE KIKO MONSTER
Buftex Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Always thought Tina Turner nailed this version of the Beatles "Help!" Turns it into a totally different song and makes you appreciate the lyrics even more...

DC Tom Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 You know it's a good cover when Robert Plant's in tears and Jimmy Page is sober.

BillsFanNC Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 That is awesome! Is a mandolin considered a "guitar?" Technically I would guess not, but that is an awesome cover and truly unique.

Wacka Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8e2fJfiddx4&feature=kp You know it's a good cover when Robert Plant's in tears and Jimmy Page is sober. I watch the entire song every time I come across it. There are a bunch of videos of Heart singing Zep songs, many with Bonham's son on drums.
The Big Cat Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 This is one of my favorites... great singer, making a well-known song her own...and giving it a whole different, but respectful tone... Replied right after watching, may have already come up: this was the intended tone of the song. Lennon was talked into kicking the tempo up to make it more poppy. The evidence is in the SUPER SAD lyrics.
