BarleyNY Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 As a native Clevelander and current Buffalo resident I have seen enough of Lewis to say that, as a player, Lewis is what he is. At this point in his career I don't see him making a major improvement.
bills1960 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 The thing that amazes me was that on the pregame show Mark Kelso was saying how if we continue to run the read option that EJ will continue to get hurt. Um, What? We don't run the read option, we haven't all year. Manuel has been hurt three times this season but not because of that, but because he's injury prone.
John in Jax Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I haven't seen every Bills game this year, but have seen most of them. From what I've seen, Lewis has been better than EJ. What's the consensus here?
Kevin Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Lewis is a quality backup QB. Nothing more. EJ is the man next season. If he doesn't get better then draft another.
papazoid Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Lewis is a quality backup QB. Nothing more. EJ is the man next season. If he doesn't get better then draft another. lewis is a quality #3 EJ is a quality #2 we need a quality #1 FRANCHISE QB
QCity Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I think Lewis is becoming a solid #2. I don't really expect any #2 QB to go into New England and win but Thad played well today, especially considering the rough weather.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 30, 2013 Author Posted December 30, 2013 lewis is a quality #3 EJ is a quality #2 we need a quality #1 FRANCHISE QB Neither you nor anyone else knows what EJ is at this juncture.
joey greco Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Neither you nor anyone else knows what EJ is at this juncture. No, we do know what he is at this juncture, and that is an extremely poor NFL quarterback. What we don't know, and can hold opinions on, is what he might be in the future.
papazoid Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Neither you nor anyone else knows what EJ is at this juncture. sure we do......he is the 29th (total QBR) and 30th (passer rating) ranked QB in the NFL.......
bbb Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Before the draft last year, they were saying that the 2014 draft is so much better for QBs than 2013. How is it looking now? It seems like some of the highly touted guys have fallen somewhat like Aaron Murray. How does it compare to 2015 at this point?

I remember hearing his name a lot last year (I guess he didn't declare last year)
bbb Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 We need some draft experts to answer our questions, because you're ahead of me - I don't even know who Logan Thomas is.
Maury Ballstein Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Logan Thomas is a poor mans EJ Manuel. Another project qb He is qb for Va tech was supposed to be top 20 draft pick earlier in career. Hasn't done much kinda flaking out but has the tools for later in draft perhaps.

dave mcbride Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Thad Lewis had a 95 rating today and was 16-29. He had at least four accurate passes dropped - one to chandler, one to graham, and two inconsequential ones to freddie (including the last pass of the game). Brady had 4 or 5 drops as well, including the int he threw. Bottom line - lewis played reasonably well, all things considered, and in miserable conditions.
