DC Tom
Not sure why they are cutting your pay - I think you do a great job welcoming me when I arrive at "the Walmarts" ...keep up the good work. Funny. I wouldn't want to be a Walmart greeter. Too much work. I'll stick with government contracting.

Kevin
My company gave us a $50 gift card to Target and a $50 gift card to Raleys. Before Thanksgiving they have a catered dinner for all three shifts. For every year without a workplace injury (resulting in missed time) we get a catered BBQ dinner for all three shifts. Our safety dinner this year is Thursday. The week of Xmas up to New Years they are shutting down the plant.
Wayne Cubed
With my company we get $50 dinner and drinks. Also, we get off Dec 25th-Jan 2nd that doesn't count against our vacation time. It's an extra week of vacation, which is nice.
outsidethebox
I got informed that I have to take a pay cut next year. It's to my benefit, because it makes the company more competitive. So I'm looking forward to it. That's the spirit. Money is overrated. You can't put a price tag on that warm fuzzy feeling inside knowing you're taking one for the team. Wooderson
I work for my grandparent's small manufacturing company. Only about 11 employees but they buy us pizza and wings on Xmas Eve and we get to leave at lunchtime with whole days pay. Get 4 days paid holiday for Xmas Eve, Xmas, NYE, New Years, and we are closed from 12/25-1/5. I'll take it.

ExiledInIllinois
I work for the Federal Government, we work 24/7/365... Nothing ever stops and there has been @ least two people on site for Christmas and all the other holidays for the last 53 years. Did I say I work for the Federal Government? LoL... Want to talk to a live person on Christmas? Just call information, 411, in Chicago... All hours of the day/night... Ask for: "The Army", you will get me or somebody else who works (one of the 13) @ my site! LoL... WTF is up with that? They have been trying to change that for 53 years! Who said personal service in the gov't is dead! LoL Can't even do this w/the Post Office... That's my bonus... Service to you! :-) ;-P Edited December 16, 2013 by ExiledInIllinois
Security
I work office hours, and we get to leave at noon on December 23. We already have off December 24 and 25. Leaving early is good enough for me. We usually get to leave at like 2 the work day just before a holiday, so that is always nice.

BillsFanNC
I forgot about my holiday case of either wine or spirits. I got the spirits this year. Flavored vodka, gin, brandy, rum and tequila. This reminded me of that old Johnny Coli blog, where he told the story of working in a liquor store during the holidays and throwing in a page of gay porn with each gift basket shipment. That blog was pure gold.
