Drifter Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 IMO Griffin was not fully healed and ready to play QB at the begining of the year. He has improved but the Redskins should have shut him down sooner than this. I expect to see a much improved RG III next season given the proper time to heal from his injury.
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 there is a lot of stories going around WRT Shanny. Did he leak the story where he wanted to quit 11 months ago? If he did the Skins have cause to fire him and not pay him for 2014. He wants to get fired so he's open for a new hire when teams need a new coach. Houston is said to not be interested. IMO Griffin was not fully healed and ready to play QB at the begining of the year. He has improved but the Redskins should have shut him down sooner than this. C.Biscuit97 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 This is what Shanahan wanted all along, but couldn't do it from week 1 because Griffin was "healthy enough" and Snyder wanted Griffin to play. The only reason Shanahan hasn't been fired yet is basically because of RG3. I think people forget how good RG3 was last year. He was unstoppable at times. Shanahan has been awful as the Washington Slurs coach. And I'm excited for the legend of Cousins to be exposed. The best part is he will led the Slurs to less points than the Bills scored against ATL and some fans will be wanting to trade a high draft pick for him.
Bufcomments Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 This whole situation is a cluster !@#$. The time to have rested him was in the playoffs last year when he was basically playing on one leg and the other one was vulnerable. The Redskins have so much invested in RGIII. They took a risk giving up so much for him. It looked like it was going to pay off, but one injury can change the whole equation. I would think long and hard before trading so much for one player. It can pay off, but can also set you back for a while. There was no way RG3 should have even played in the playoff game last year. That was hard to watch. And it set him back for this year, I blame Shanahan for that. And I think there more to the story than this.

The reason he should be fired IS because of RGIII there is now way in hell Shanny should have let RGIII play at the end of last season with his injury Another reason he should be fired -- Keeping his son as OC Edited December 11, 2013 by BillsFan-4-Ever

But minus that 7 game winning streak last year, Washington has had one of the worst records in the NFL during the Shanahan's tenure. Btw, I'm sure Kyle Shanahan would be an OC if his dad wasn't the head coach. He paid his dues. Dan Snyder is cheap!
RyanC883 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 this is genius on their part. The Redskins are hoping that Cousins plays well these last few weeks, and then dangle him at a team in need of a QB for trading purposes.

The Redskins are hoping that Cousins plays well these last few weeks, and then dangle him at a team in need of a QB for trading purposes. And any team that trades for him is stupid. Matt Flynn, Kevin Kolb, AJ Feely, RJ, etc. I really have no idea how Cousins got so hyped a year after being drafted in the 4th round. He was pretty decent in college but never once did he seem like a NFL starting QB.
reddogblitz Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Why is that? The last time I checked the Redskins won their division last year. I can't remember the last time we won our division. I think it was 1995. Pretty pathetic. Presently we are riding a 5, soon to be 6 probably, year streak of finishing last in the AFCE.
mannc Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 this is genius on their part. The Redskins are hoping that Cousins plays well these last few weeks, and then dangle him at a team in need of a QB for trading purposes. That's not what this is about. It is Shanahan daring Snyder to intervene on RGIII's behalf and/or inciting Snyder to fire him.
SmokinES3 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Did Shanny really imply an off season program is more important than game experience?

Mr. WEO Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 It's clear that RG3 is a one trick pony. His rapid decline and attitude are illuminating. Worst of the top 3 QB picks his year by far.
C.Biscuit97 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 He got hyped because he came in and won games. So did those guys. He's credit with 1 career win and has 4 tds & 3 ints. But obviously, he's a better prospect than EJ.
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Did Shanny really imply an off season program is more important than game experience? looks that way It's clear that RG3 is a one trick pony. His rapid decline and attitude are illuminating. Worst of the top 3 QB picks his year by far. I said this before .. living in the DC NOVA region - Last season RG3 said all the right things. This season from week 1 and on, its open mouth insert foot.
The Dog Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Snyder signed a pact with the devil, thinks he can buy a Superbowl, only the Pats can do that.
CardinalScotts Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Well this will end the Cousins is a good quarterback talk - thank god. Skins would like to have their #1 pick to draft a QB this year and don't have it. Who? Their three Super Bowls were an abject failure. there super bowl runs were prior to salary cap...bought Haley, bought Dion etc.
3rdand12 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Bills should pull a Ditka and trade away their entire 2014 draft to get RGIII...throw in EJ too. And poor Mr Griffin lose another knee . this is genius on their part. The Redskins are hoping that Cousins plays well these last few weeks, and then dangle him at a team in need of a QB for trading purposes. day traders ..geesh
vincec Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Also, the Redskins make the Bills look like a dynasty franchise. You mean the team that has won 3 Super Bowls and made the playoffs just last season?
jaybee Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Odd that Shanny wants to save him now yet continued playing him in that playoff game last year after the poor kids leg fell off. If anything, Shanny should have been fired before that game even ended. He may well be remembered as the coach that killed RGIII's career. Quite the implosion down there.
