Miyagi-Do Karate Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Here is the end of the MNF game with the Cowboys a few years ago. It's amazing watching the end of this game. Nick Folk had never made a 53-yrd FG. He hits it as time expires, but Jauron called TO just before. So he kicked it again, and still made it. Kornheiser says, "What do you have to win if you're Buffalo?" That just sums everything up to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obHnlLz0f4c
l< j Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Giants converted FOUR 3rd downs on this drive. This being the most gut wrenching one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYl_gSzmbZY I can look at all of these and live with them, even smile at our Sad Sack history. But this one still causes pain. kj
CSBill Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Oh there are so many good ones to choose from . . . - the obvious is Norwood, but that's too easy - Yeah, the Nick Folk kick was a good one - Homerun Throwback (forward) has to get serious consideration - Do we have any of the Leodis McK. fumble against NE a few years ago to snatch Defeat from the jaws of Victory - And anything with Aaron Maybin in it, or has all that video been burned But I have to give this a vote: Just when we were about to get hope beyond hope that this team might indeed be special, a Dback torched, falling down, looks up, ball coming right to him, returns it for a TD, instead of up by 2+ scores, Chiefs back in the game and rolled us from there . . . http://youtu.be/oxjHIhlh5ys
Tu-Toned Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 What immediately comes to mind is Lucy holding for Charlie and then pulling the ball away, I know that you wanted one single play but this is one single play, but they run it all the time.
GG Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Only one? Pick a season. Or at least a generation. But realistically it was the day that Ralph Wilson signed the AFL application.
NFL95MelGrayDomination Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 (edited) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pfz4JViRkoA because ever since we've sucked. Edited December 6, 2013 by NFL95MelGrayDomination
bisonbrigade Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 ...left? iI wanted it to go 15 inches to the left. LOL
chaccof Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I nominate whatever play preceded Lou Saban's famous rant "GOD ALMIGHTY!! WHY DO WE DO THAT?!?!" Wasn't he with the Bronco's when he uttered that great line? And wasn't the line followed by one of my other favorites: :They're killing me Whitey, they're killing me......"
Numark Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 its gotta be the music city miracle. Sure norwood was a worst moment in bills history, but it was a missed fg. The music city miracle is a metaphor for buffalo sports.....as is the dallas "no goal"
Gray Beard Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Not a real play but it sums it up... My son and I laughed for about an hour when we saw that commercial.
ThurmasThoman Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 (edited) ONE play to define this franchise? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iW0KrWHEiFA best fans in the world, best stadium in football. You can post videos to all of the failures in the world, and all of the reasons why we're a second rate organization. But at the end of the day, or more accurately, at the start of the season, 75,000 people show up to cheer on the underdog. To root for david against goliath. And every year we swear we won't. But week 1 next year, we'll be there, convincing each other that THIS is our year. So post all the failures you want-that doesn't define this team. The fact that AFTER all those failures, we're still here cheering--that defines this team. Edited December 6, 2013 by JohnnyGold
yungmack Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Here's what's depressing about this thread: there are so freakin' many "defining" plays in the history of this franchise.
KellyToTasker Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 @JohnnyGold: THANKYOU! My thoughts are the same. It can be mid March and me and my old man will still bring up the Bills when we talk. Someday, Someday.....It's going to pay off.
notwoz Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I'd like to think it was the Mike Stratton hit on Keith Lincoln. But I'm afraid that's the exception to the rule. That hit was a game changer, though.
smuvtalker Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Man you guys all posted some great ones...but it's pretty hard for me to pick against Wide Right......heartbreaking in every sense of the word and I don't think I've ever recovered. The Ronnie Harmon dropped pass in the end zone also comes to mind as a nominee....
coloradobillsfan Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 ONE play to define this franchise? best fans in the world, best stadium in football. best single play is don beebe, combines all the heartbreak with everything good i've ever known about this franchise its city and its fans
bobobonators Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 (edited) Wide Right for sure #1 and.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWR1yQUKIMg Edited December 7, 2013 by bobobonators
