DanInUticaTampa Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 The Bills have done fairly well with the next man up this season. When Gilmore went down, guys like McKelvin, Williams and even Robey have surprised us. When Stevie and Woods went down, last week our other receivers came through. Even Thad Lewis impressed. I wouldn't say next man up equals garbage. Depends on the team and depth. From this season, the biggest dropoff we had was when we lost Lawson for a game and we had Hughs take his snaps. Hughs is good for pass rushing, but man did he look like a joke in coverage
Leelee Phoenix Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Well, for the Bills, next man up probably works because there's nobody that valuable on this team.
bbb Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Earl Morel, Jeff Hostettler, and Kurt Warner would disagree. I don't think the QB mattered as much with the first two examples. Didn't Griese throw 6 passes in the Super Bowl?..........Warner is not that great of an example because it's not like Trent Green was a long established starter or anything like that.
