BuffaloBill Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 When I first looked at this text on my phone I read it as they had signed up for a subscription to Juggs. Guess we know what is on your mind
NoSaint Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 "Played in 11 games (one start) at LT as a junior in 2011 behind consensus All-American and 2012 NFL second-round draft pick (Carolina) Amini Silatolu..." still would be curious to hear more about why he didnt start at RT or guard, but it could be as simple as they had a solid line at the positions they liked him at.
....lybob Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Just from the video - upside looks like he has good size, is well proportioned and can move around pretty good- downsize also looks like he needs a year in a NFL level strength and conditioning program and while It's hard to tell from the video my guess is his technique is also raw- overall seems to be a good pickup who might save us a draft pick.
John from Riverside Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 He has left guard written all over him
NoSaint Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 He has left guard written all over him yea, compared to last years guard class he seems to fall right around the middle of the pack to very slightly above in most measurables as far as athleticism go. a little weak on the bench.
26CornerBlitz Posted November 20, 2013 Author Posted November 20, 2013 Joe B says they're moving him to guard https://twitter.com/...210564458917889 Not a total shocker with Legursky's lack of performance at LG. This guy has the size to be much more stout at the POA and provide some push. Hopefully he has pretty good technique.
shibuya Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I would love to see him at LG some this year. I'm thinking this is because our running game is too incosistent and this is the best answer they can come up with at this point in the season. He has 2 weeks to get ready for some playing time
artmalibu Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Speaking on Tackles any word on Hairston?
DanInUticaTampa Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Speaking on Tackles any word on Hairston? Still on IR.
26CornerBlitz Posted November 20, 2013 Author Posted November 20, 2013 Speaking on Tackles any word on Hairston? Reserve/Non-Football Illness 75 Hairston, Chris
NoSaint Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Reserve/Non-Football Illness 75 Hairston, Chris did we ever get details?
26CornerBlitz Posted November 20, 2013 Author Posted November 20, 2013 did we ever get details? Had offseason surgery that he never fully recovered from. Can't remember what the surgery was.
NoSaint Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Had offseason surgery that he never fully recovered from. Can't remember what the surgery was. odd, in that hes on a nonfootball injury list. i feel like he was a possibly important player coming into a year that could be a crossroads for his career, and then he disappeared with nearly no explanation of the injury. maybe i simply missed it, but it seems like it gets asked every few weeks and no one has a firm answer.
John from Riverside Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 That 1st year I was firmly convinced he was going to make the pro bowl as a Right Tackle....when they moved him there.... What happened to Hairston still bothers me....
DefenseWinzChampionshipz Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 The way I see it and probably most of you would agree, the LG position is definitely open for competition. I most certainly wouldn't mind seeing Unga get some playing time this season. I don't know if LG is the reason why we're not doing so well running the ball this season but it definitely wouldn't hurt having a big guy like him blocking for Spiller. Freddy I'm not concerned about cuz Freddy does what Freddy dies and that's gain yards no matter what. Spiller needs more help from the linemen.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Reserve/Non-Football Illness 75 Hairston, Chris I forgot he was even on the team. Next thing you'll tell me is that zebrie sanders has been riding the pine this whole time.
RuntheDamnBall Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I forgot he was even on the team. Next thing you'll tell me is that zebrie sanders has been riding the pine this whole time. And Mike Pucillo is stuck in a dumpster somewhere near the Ralph Wilson Fieldhouse.
Beerball Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 We pluck a guy off of a practice squad and that prompts you to think we're looking for a long term RT? Off the practice squad of a team with a horrible line. How is this for a nickname? "Unga Din." Unga Bunga
