26CornerBlitz Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) What say you now? Excellent accuracy all day long on all types of throws - short, intermediate, and long. Bills and EJ Manuel bounce back in impressive fashion Bills and EJ Manuel bounce back in impressive fashion Howard Simon howard@wgr550.com I couldn't have scripted it any better. The Bills bounce back from their worst game of the season with a dominating win over a division rival and one that has beaten them up pretty good in recent seasons. Rookie QB EJ Manuel responds to his worst game of the season with a very strong day, throwing the ball with accuracy and hitting plays down field. Sideline Reactions: Bills 37 - Jets 14 By Joe Buscaglia JoeB@wgr550.com Manuel bounces back In his first game back in over a month, EJ Manuel was not effective against Pittsburgh until the game didn't matter any longer. He was missing passes that he should always hit, and the offense had their worst performance of the season. Fast forward to Sunday, a game against the Jets with swirling winds, Manuel had a quality performance against a defense that has played quite well as of late. The rookie quarterback was hitting on the intermediate throws that plagued him against the Steelers, finding his targets on comeback routes, slants and out routes with well-placed passes. Even just after one week, the buzzards were circling Manuel following the Pittsburgh game despite rookie seasons being notorious for their peaks and valleys. However, Manuel answered back with a strong throw down the field to Marquise Goodwin for a touchdown right after another deep ball completed to T.J. Graham. Did he make some mistakes? Sure. Did he in anyway jeopardize the Bills from coming away with the victory? Not even in the slightest. Now it's on Manuel to pick up victories against three teams that have a 5-25 combined record on the year. Edited November 18, 2013 by 26CornerBlitz
Prickly Pete Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 What say you now? Not many "gave up" on EJM. We want to see progress. Today he did really well. I'm sure everyone is happy.
Rob's House Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I still say he sucks. We should start Tuel down the stretch to see what we've got there.

I saw posters on TSW who conclusively said he's not the answer. Beyond ridiculous....even after today....The jury is out....But Come on! Edited November 17, 2013 by 26CornerBlitz
colin Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 i admit i was super down on him. as well as he played today, i think the oc killed it today, and he has really sucked before. no stevie or woods, and we made some passes happen. run game was stuffed up, and we adjusted. we need both the oc and the qb to grow, and fast.

MDH Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Just like you can't get too down on a rook when he struggles, you can't get too up on him when he plays well. I'm happy to be sure but in the long run it's a single game. Consistency is the key hopefully we'll see a few more games like this one the rest of the way.

I'm not going to gloat and say "see I told you so" when he plays well. It was just way too early to call him a bust.
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Rookie seasons come with ups and downs. This was the biggest up so far and some of those throws were gorgeous. The Goodwin TD couldn't have been placed better. We'll see if EJ takes advantage of a bad defense in two weeks.

Every kook is gonna want to post their feelings. I doubt most people had written him off, they just didn't bother posting their support.
BuffaloBillsMagic1 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I'm back on board. Showed quick release and strong arm in windy day....
Rob's House Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 In all seriousness, I feel a lot better about him after today. He's still got a ways to go, but he did a lot of things today that give reason for optimism. He still missed a few throws, but I liked his movement, awareness, and confidence a lot more.. Definite signs of improvement.
BuffaloBillsForever Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 The most important of the game was the defense...by far.
thewildrabbit Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Fans were already calling for a QB to be drafted with the #1 next year...so silly.
BuffaloPride Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I was guilty of giving up on EJ. I will now shift my focus on giving up on CJ.
DC Tom Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Anyone who changed their mind this week who based their judgement on last week's performance is literally mentally ill, and should seek professional help.
BillnutinHouston Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) EJ looks fine. Development needs to continue between the ears but you can see that he has the smarts. All the physicals tools are there. It's funny, people knock him for being too careful but they can see the flip side of EJ today, in Geno. Would you prefer that? Dorkington Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I love how back and forth this place has been. So far, EJ still hasn't really impressed me... but he's a rookie. I assume he'll be our QB for another two seasons, at the very least. Like I said last week, I hope he grows and improves through the rest of this season. This season is probably over already (even though we're still mathematically in it).
