Nanker Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Not a !@#$ing bit. That's why I went and got carved up. Nearly 100% now. Glad to hear that.
KD in CA Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 No federal charges for George Zimmerman. I guess even Eric Holder couldn't trump up enough bullsh-- to override the fact that Martin attacking Zimmerman was the direct cause for his death. http://abcnews.go.com/US/trayvon-martin-doj-set-announce-charges-george-zimmerman/story?id=29186648 p.s. Good job by ABC "News" still going with the picture of Martin as a 12 year old.
IDBillzFan Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 p.s. Good job by ABC "News" still going with the picture of Martin as a 12 year old. This was always my favorite:
B-Man Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 This decision comes as no surprise to anyone familiar with the actual facts of the case. Zimmerman’s claim of lawful self-defense was overwhelmingly supported by evidence presented at trial, and there was no additional evidence suggesting Zimmerman had set out to deliberately violate Martin’s civil rights. Indeed, the only shocking aspect of this is that it took the Department of Justice 19 months after Zimmerman’s acquittal to make the announcement. Soon after the 2012 shooting, the Department of Justice ordered a team of FBI agents to interview witnesses, neighbors, co-workers, and friends of Zimmerman in a search for any evidence of racism. They didn’t just come up empty; what evidence they did find confirmed that Zimmerman was decidedly not racist. But the elections are now over......................so it was money well spent. .
3rdnlng Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 "Crickets" from the crowd here who still believe Zimmerman hunted Martin down and killed him in cold blood.

But you know they're simmering over this.....'civil rights charges' is the great left wing end-run around double jeopardy and they were counting on it here.

Do you have an honest bone in your body, or are you just too stupid to differentiate between justice and calling someone another person's hero?

They always have Ferguson. We'll see how much time and money is spent by Holder figuring out what really happened there.
Gene Frenkle Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 God is just. Obviously. Ye of little faith...did you really need this to prove it to you? Do you have an honest bone in your body, or are you just too stupid to differentiate between justice and calling someone another person's hero? Hmmm. Maybe I mistook all the gloating for hero worship. Some things just don't come across well on the internet.

Some things just don't come across well on the internet. No one is gloating (at least I for one am not) over this. It never should have received the attention that it did and as it turns out there never should have even been a trial. Obama, Holder, Sharpton, Jackson, The New Black Panthers and various others stuck their noses into this for politics, race baiting, fund raising and just plain notoriety. Whether Zimmerman was a good guy or not has no bearing on the prosecution's persecution that has effectively ruined his life. Several posters here during Zimmerman's ordeal & trial refused to educate themselves as to the specifics of the case and continued to make ignorant statements because of their politics. Their disingenuous, glib and callous remarks were disgusting. Your "hero" comments reminded me of their assmudgeonry, and that is why I responded the way I did. Well, that and for the fact that it was you.

I hope he knew that he lived in a state with a “Stand Your Ground’ law. And I hope he whooped the **** out of George Zimmerman. And it’s not disreputable because he encountered a stranger who was prepared to kill him, and you know how I know? Because he killed him.

Gene Frenkle Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Still too pigheaded to acknowledge who the gloating is directed at, huh? No, I get it. Much like the bipolar politics that infects this country, people chose sides on this based on what the other team chose. Now one side feels like they won the Super Bowl (or at least a playoff game) and feels the need to either celebrate, rub the other team's nose in it or both. I get it. I just don't like this aspect of human nature.

Gene Frenkle Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Unless of course the topic is religion not politics. Politics and human nature can be quantified and argued based on facts. We all have our "sacred" cows, lol.

3rdnlng Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Shortly after this case became an item that the media ran with, it just bothered me to no end because the media and their darlings threw caution to the wind and didn't give Zimmerman even a small benefit of the doubt. I wondered why the local DA and cops weren't pushing for a trial. Many/most of us here cautioned against lynching GZ and wanted to see the legal system sort things out. Well, they finally sorted things out (against enormous pressure from a lot of people) and found him not guilty. I followed the case and agreed with the decision, not because of politics but because i believe in justice over political leaning. It's a shame, but very telling that some people want to make this about politics rather than justice.
