Alphadawg7
Sorry but he got robbed. And im a huge gsp fan. Not lying...as soon as fight was over (I hosted a fight party for this and had about 25 people here) I told the room that dont be surprised to see a split decision and dont be surprised to see GSP win. I am literally puzzled how anyone can think this was a robbery. Boxing and MMA are not judged by "who won the fight" but by "who won each round". Rounds 2 and 4 are CLEAR Hendricks. Rounds 3 and 5 are CLEAR GSP. I will even give you that Hendricks won his round better than GSP, however, doesnt matter...they both clearly won the rounds stated above. That leaves round 1 as the swing round. And all judges agreed. I said literally after round 1, and again after round 3 when I had it 2 rounds to 1 GSP that when you are facing a champion as respected, successful, and dominant as GSP has been, you better WIN the round. Any close round, the champ more often than not gets the benefit of the doubt. Round 1 was a close round, very close round. GSP did more work and almost submitted him and Johnny only really landed 2 good shots. GSP won the round closely, but even if you say its a tie, then like baseball where ties go to the runner, judges usually give the respected champ the nod in a tie type round. This was the fight result I expected and no one in the room thought he was gonna win, but no one was remembering round 1. You dont score rounds after fight is over, you score them right when they end. And I knew that they more than likely gave round 1 to GSP because Johnny didnt do anything as a challenger to cement that round. And Johnny blew his opportunity in round 2 to take a 10-8 when he allowed GSP to regain his composure and start striking back in the final minute to prevent the 10-8. There is no controversy here. I really like BOTH fighters, but this is not a robbery. Yes, Hendricks beat the hell out of GSP, but its not about total damage, its about total points and Hendricks was beat CLEARLY in rounds 3 and 5 and didnt do enough in round 1 to win it, in fact I scored it for GSP. In MMA its critical you win EACH round when challenging for the title because there are only 5 rounds. You cant take any round slow and risk losing that round. Hendricks did. Not to mention, it looked like Hendricks tapped in round 1 and ref missed it. mdh are you serious? GSP was wobbly and beaten soundly. Hendricks was way too strong and GSP couldn't even fathom one takedown on him. Hendricks won by a mile. Easily Robbery is the correct term. What are you talking about...GSP took him down 3 times in round 5 alone and took him down in round 1 and nearly submitted him. What fight did you watch? In fact, the real controversy was if Hendricks tapped in round 1 and the ref missed it.
ajzepp
lol@Chael Sonnen at the post-fight presser... Reporter: "Chael, what happened out there" Sonnen: "Well...he hit me real hard...and then he did it again and again" Also, I can't believe the things Dana is saying at this presser...I'm always a fan of candor and non-PC trash talk, but this is really ill-advised, IMO...he's borderline mocking the guy. ajzepp
Whoa, the pic looked bad enough, but seeing GSP at this post-fight thing, he looks BUSTED UP. Johnny looks like he just got back from a date or something.

GSP didn't have that sub on tight enough to cause anyone to tap. He didn't have the leverage he needed - which is why Hendricks was able to push his leg away (which is what looks like the tap) and easily get to his feet. I find Chael Sonnen to be hilarious though so I watched this one. Gsp got worked plain and simple. Agree to disagree on this He doesnt even wanna fight anymore after that whooping IMO.
