\GoBillsInDallas/ Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 "Christensen was a devout Mormon who didn't drink, and his family believes his liver problems started 25 years ago after a "botched" gall bladder operation, his son told The Associated Press."
Uncle Joe Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 (edited) I played baseball against him in high school. 57 is way too young. RIP Todd. Edited November 14, 2013 by Uncle Joe
Beerball Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Yeah. He was a solid color guy. That's awful RIP...very solid announcer IMO. Why he was banished to the hinterland of the Mountain West Sports Network I'll never know. Must have rubbed some execs the wrong way.
Kkspike Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I always thought he looked funny wearing number 46 for being a tight end.
Simon Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Wow, that sucks. Seemed like a great guy who genuinely loved the game. Hope he's playing ball again on the big field in the sky.
Prickly Pete Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Loved him as a player, dreaded him as a commentator. Seemed like a great guy though, and way too young to go. Hope he had a great life while he was here.
jumbalaya Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 ya think steroids have anything to do with the liver disease?
Rubes Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 He was a great figure here in Utah Wow, really? I didn't realize he was a Mormon. I've lived in Utah for 16 years and I don't think I ever heard his name mentioned.
atlbillsfan1975 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Very sad indeed. He was a very good TE. Would you guys say he was one of the first to specialize in the 'pass catching' category of TE? Prayers to him and his loved ones.
reddogblitz Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I always thought he looked funny wearing number 46 for being a tight end. That was because he didn't start out as a Tight End, but as a Full Back. He started with the Cowboys and Tom Landry wanted to turn him into a Tight End but he wanted to play Full Back. The Raidaahs started him at Full Back to and then successfully DID convert him into a Tight End.
Tcali Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Absolutely GREAT TE. I liked him as a broadcaster--maybe because he annoyed so many sports fans with his big vocabulary. RIP
3rdand12 Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 There's a handful of NFL players I have memories of watching when I was a kid...Drew Pearson...Mean Joe Greene...and one of them was TC...RIP, man...57 is way to young. I thought the same when i read the news on PFT today. He was a player i was a fan of way back then. Right after John Mackey. no seriously
ICanSleepWhenI'mDead Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I found this to be a pretty interesting read about Christensen: http://byucougars.com/m-football/todd-christensen-tribute
Big Turk Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Fair or not, I was always bias against him after his bashing of the Bills in the comeback game and how he basically said the refs gave the Bills the game... That being said, RIP Todd, you were one hell of a TE

BuffaloBud Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I found this to be a pretty interesting read about Christensen: http://byucougars.com/m-football/todd-christensen-tribute Real good read. Great quote mentioned - “There’s no limit to the amount of work we can do if no one cares who gets the credit."
