Clippers of Nfl Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Please forgive me bills nation, I did fast forward some plays this sunday. But most ff plays happened while bills were on defense. How many screen plays did we have? I'm going based on my memory and the fact that the bills bored me (sorry). I kinda lost interest (sorry). I didnt even get upset (sorry). The bills suck? Maybe (sorry) I think we had just one screen pass, but again I could be wrong. Even the vanilla was missing from this vanilla offense. It was just cream. No vanilla. (sorry again)
Clippers of Nfl Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 So I guess no one knows or no one cares. Yeah I get that.
Gerry Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I think it is a very legitimate question. When you have 3 talented, experienced backs (I include Choice) and a rookie QB who seems to be on a tight leash, this has to be a bread and butter play for the offense. Here's what I think, and I know people get sick of hearing this: Marrone and Hackett are rookies learning on the job, and they just don't know how to make the best use of the talent that they have to work with. Think about this: how many times from 2000-2012 when he played for the Pats, did you see them use the screen to Kevin Faulk on 3rd or 4th down and almost always pick up the 1st? 10? 15? Maybe 20? It was even successful when you could predict that it was coming. Belichick knows that you go to your clutch players in crucial situations with low risk plays to keep drives going; that is how games are won. Marrone and Hackett haven't learned this yet.

The broncos are running wr screens all damn day. Why not us? Our wrs cannot be taught to block for each other?
