covac23 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 That stat tells me that our biggest problem is the play calling. If one good thing comes out of this losing season, it's the firing of Hackett. He's in over his head and his designed run plays are unbelievably predictable along with the pass plays. Screens? Draws? Counters? In my mind, Nate Hackett calling our plays is the biggest problem with this team.
wnysteel Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 quite a few times yesterday, it seemed like Pittsburgh knew exactly what play we were running (run vs. pass) based on our personnel package. we've become too predictable it seems. not to mention the continued failures of 3rd and 1, and not going for it on 4th down, deep in Steelers territory while losing.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Carries are skewed stat because we had so many 3 and outs.
Dorkington Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Carries are skewed stat because we had so many 3 and outs. This.
Homey D. Clown Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 or it tells you a tale of a team playing from behind.
silvermike Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Bear in mind that they passed 14 times on that final drive.
mead107 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Glad they spent last week working on the red zone.
HailMary Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 If you compare Spiller with the likes of McCoy and Charles, both those guys see 25 to 30 touches a game week in and week out. I know Spiller has been banged up but Hackett should have been more patient with him yesterday and let him get in a groove. These Bills backs platoon like each play is an amusement park ride. Go once then get back in line to do it again. Never mind confusing the other team's Defence, Hackett has his own team confused!
covac23 Posted November 11, 2013 Author Posted November 11, 2013 http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/playbyplay?gameId=331110023&period=1 When you look at the play calling, it's so frustrating to see the same formation 3 times and a change of possession by punt. But it really starts in the 2nd quarter when the Bills have the ball with 8:47 in the first half. FRUSTRATINGLY PREDICTABLE play calling.
Section242 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I don't think that Hackett would decide if they went for it on 4th down. Still they punted about 5 times on Pittsburgh side of the field. Once at the 36 down by 14 in the 4th quarter.
