Oh, and I figure some one like Jacksonville, NY Giants or Seattle may like his services.

According to CBS Sports NFL reporter Jason LaCanfora, the Bills will be releasing WR Brad Smith.

Smith, who has been on injured reserve apparently reached an injury settlement with the team and will be released. Now that he is healthy he will be eligible to sign with any other NFL club for the remainder of the season, except Buffalo.

The Bills will be releasing WR Brad Smith from IR today. He's healthy now. Might be an intriguing option for a few teams with need.

inb4 he's better then TJ Graham

Ok, now what do we do with Kolb?

depends on some health and contract questions none of us are likely able to answer right now. he will be pretty unlikely to see next year but how that happens is up in the air

Brad was a misfit in the new regime's system. No more wildcat, and whose position was he going to take at WR? Easley has proven to be an excellent gunner who is much cheaper, and the Bills have numerous good return men.

It sickens me to read the posts from guys who have lambasted Smith over his tenure here, however. He was productive in the manner used; the Bills have simply improved their personnel and he doesn't fit -- certainly not at that salary.

It is not a bad decision at all. With that being said I think that he could have helped this team tremendously in short yardage. They really stink in short yardage and he was great at moving the chains.

"Sickens" is a strong word.

Smith deserves a lot of criticism. He signed a pretty big contract, and outside of a few 3rd and 1 conversions (where he would get 2 yards), and one kick-off return, he was largely useless. He was a huge disappointment as a ST player, WR, and wildcat QB. As a wildcat QB, Fred Jackson was actually much better.

So is he released from the team? Or is he released from the IR? and he can play?

hes a free agent, with the only restriction being he cant sign with us.

I can see Indianapolis being interested. DHB is a slob. TY is amazing but if they want to make a Super Bowl run they need some help in the receiving core.

Good luck Brad don't try to be a QB/KR/WR anymore. Just focus on WR.

With some of the injuries we've had at WR it may not have hurt to keep him around, if not for the salary. Good luck to him in the future.

Wouldn't have helped this year since he was ineligible to play for the Bills once he was put on IR.

The facts suggest otherwise, but I won't get into a pissing match. Brad Smith doesn't deserve the venom that has been directed his way on this board.

Absolutely true. Don't know how that slipped my mind.
