filthymcnasty08 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Orakpo + Gronk + R Wilson Maybin + Troup + Graham just....wow.
26CornerBlitz Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Orakpo + Gronk + R Wilson Maybin + Troup + Graham just....wow. Great move to finally Nix Buddy.
NoSaint Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Great move to finally Nix Buddy. You could do that to 32 other gms. Only 2 of those are even buddy.
Dragonborn10 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Serious question... at OLB or DE? I'm still unsure what defense we play nor that it really matters putting a label on it. Seems we play more 4-3. I like Hughes as a cheaper alternative at DE. I would pay big money to play him at OLB. As above he get's franchised I'm sure.
26CornerBlitz Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 You could do that to 32 other gms. Only 2 of those are even buddy. Don't want to hijack this thread to rehash the merits or "demerits" of Buddy, but it was time. I now return you back to your regular programming.
MRW Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Orakpo + Gronk + R Wilson Maybin + Troup + Graham just....wow. Yeah, that team that drafted Orakpo, Gronkowski, and Wilson had a killer draft!
SoulMan Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I REALLY hate saying this, but we should have had him in the first place. When our pick came up, and Orakpo was available, I lost my mind with excitement. When we picked Maybin, I lost my mind with disgust. But I'm not bitter !
filthymcnasty08 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Yeah, that team that drafted Orakpo, Gronkowski, and Wilson had a killer draft! Only one team actually had the chance to make that happen.
MRW Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Only one team actually had the chance to make that happen. Considering those players were all selected in different years, I don't think that's true.
filthymcnasty08 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Considering those players were all selected in different years, I don't think that's true. I think that it was understood but thanks for the post.
Owf71 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Maybe we'll take that Aaron Maybin kid, he's been impressive in Argonauts practice
reddogblitz Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 How about Jared Allen instead? Mario on one side. Jared on the other. Could be fun.
benderbender Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 (edited) How about Jared Allen instead? Mario on one side. Jared on the other. Could be fun. Jared Allen would be awesome, but Orakpo is 5 years younger and in better shape Edited November 8, 2013 by benderbender
JM57 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I know this season isn't over yet but I was looking through some of the free agents for next season and I came across Brian Orakpo. I think he would be a nice addition on the other side of Mario and he shouldn't be too much to sign. They don't have the cap space for a splash signing next year
simpleman Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 (edited) I REALLY hate saying this, but we should have had him in the first place. When our pick came up, and Orakpo was available, I lost my mind with excitement. When we picked Maybin, I lost my mind with disgust. Yes many of us felt that way. It seemed so obvious at the time. I was like "How can you write down Orakpo so badly that you misspell it and it comes out as Maybin." When Glenn was still available in the 2nd round a few years ago, I was so excited but worried they would somehow misspell his name too, luckily they didn't, LOL. Edited November 8, 2013 by simpleman
The Wiz Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 They don't have the cap space for a splash signing next year They do when they don't resign byrd
1B4IDie Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 In DC on the talk radio I don't get the feeling the fans are two anxious to resign him. He has missed a lot of games and at this point his reputation seems to be more dominant than his play. I still would like to resign Lawson then sign Orakpp for a decent amount. Williams brothers, Dareus and hopefully a health it Carrington or resign Branch. With Lawson Kiko and Orakpo at LB. That's a freaking scary front 7. Then if Gilmore develops even more with McKelvin and Aaron Williams at Safety. That's a nice secondary. On paper that is a beast defense.
RuntheDamnBall Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 You don't go to the free agent market to right your draft wrongs. Mario Williams may have been an exception in that we really needed a FA to signal that the team was changing (as did Denver with Manning). Orakpo is a nice player but borderline elite, not elite. You don't break your bank for him because it's going to cost you in other areas. You hope to find the next one of him in the draft. As someone else noted before, bringing in two more guys with the status of Lawson and Branch for the defense (not necessarily at their positions, but maybe to replace / augment Moats) would be great. It helps when you don't pick guys who aren't built for the NFL at receiver or rush lineman/LB positions.
Fan in San Diego Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Remember when we chose Maybin over Orakpo and Clay Matthews? Fun times... Ahh! I still get upset about that! Damn Jauron should be shot for that alone!
T master Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 He should already be in a Bills uni !! But i don't see their owner letting him out of town , Schnieder isn't afraid to open that check book to keep a guy like him around .
