i always hate wintertime because the early darkness is so depressing.. .

About 5.5 hours, December 21st (same every year - solstice thing).

You get a nice payback in the summer though AD...mostly beautiful weather and lots of daylight...

Yep. Alaskan summers are the closest thing to heaven I've ever seen. 20 hours of sun and temps in the high 60s to low 70s pretty much every day. Sweet.

EDIT: Great, it's 15 degrees WARMER in Alaska... And the windchill is 31 degrees WARMER in Alaska than it is here... Stupid Minnesota...
