Canadian Bills Fan Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 If this happened he really could retire a Packer CBF
Buftex Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 If this happened he really could retire a Packer CBF My memory is cloudy, but wasn't he set to retire as a Packer earlier this year, and then it got post-poned or somehting? Or was it his jersey retirment ceremony?
Maury Ballstein Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Huge yea to the Favre return... This will be insanely interesting IMO, especially if there's a Farve playoff game
Fan in Chicago Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 http://www.sportingn...-rodgers-injury Can this really be true ? If yes, I wonder what Rodgers thinks of this inquiry. Favre never even called Rodgers to congratulate him after the SB win.
Rob's House Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Favre should do it. If he were to win the SB it would be legendary. If he sucks no one would hold it against him on account of age & time away from the game.
BillsFanForever19 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 I don't know. I don't see anyone else talking about it. Usually if his name is even merely whispered somewhere near an NFL stadium - every "expert" in the country is tweeting about it and there's round the clock coverage on NFL Network and ESPN. But maybe they're all trying to confirm it first?
Buftex Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 (edited) Just heard that Bus Cook, Favre's agent, has said that "Brett is staying retired". If you click on the original story, Sporting News has updated it, with somebody tweeting Cook's comments.. This tweeting thing is getting out of hand... Edited November 5, 2013 by Buftex

Figured that to be the case when he had already supposedly turned the Rams down citing memory loss.
buffaloboyinATL Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Figured that to be the case when he had already supposedly turned the Rams down citing memory loss. Yeah, but he may have forgotten that he turned down the Rams.
26CornerBlitz Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Yeah, but he may have forgotten that he turned down the Rams. Now that is good stuff. Well done.
NoSaint Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Favre should do it. If he were to win the SB it would be legendary. If he sucks no one would hold it against him on account of age & time away from the game. He's be playing 3 weeks. And suiting up on 6 days notice - I'd guess Super Bowl wins aren't really in the discussion. Likely he simply would end his career on a sad note.
clayboy54 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Yes. Flynn is most famous for his success againsts a very bad Lions secondary. He hasn't done much since then . Flynn & Rob Johnson are going to make an infomercial "make big money while you sit."

BuffaloBill Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Its more likely to be matt Flynn ... who already had success there. Yeah I think Favre is really retired and I think he has to be concerned about the abuse he put his body through. My guess is that he is really feeling it now.
Storm Front Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 I wonder how Aaron Rogers feels about the Pack reaching out to Brett Favre?
Captain Hindsight Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Flynn has a dead arm. Makes more sense why no one wants him Heard it in Espn radio this morning
benderbender Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Not quite. Flynn is most famous, and he is indeed famous, for parlaying that one success into multi-millions of dollars. We should all be jealous. Yet when Fitzpatrick strings 4 wins into a mega contract, he's a jerk who fleeced Buffalo
Punch Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Balzer's comment isn't that the Packers reached out to Favre... only that Balzer reached out to Bus Cook asking if Favre would consider returning to the Packers. It doesn't appear that the Packers considered Favre in any way.

It doesn't appear that the Packers considered Favre in any way. The story has been edited since it was originally posted. The original story made no mention of Bus Cook, and said, most definitiely, that the interest was on the side of the Packers ... Edited November 7, 2013 by Buftex
